This is an update on LJ drama, so if you're sick of it, skip it.
In their frst policy update Livejournal stated:
* How is LiveJournal determining whether figures depicted in drawings/artwork are underage?
A number of factors are involved in making this determination. Any stated age of the individuals present, the apparent age of the people or characters present in an image, and outside knowledge of the person or character's age are all taken into consideration. The only one of these factors which can be evaluated alone is how characters present in the image are drawn, and this is only done when there is simply no other information available to help determine age.
[1] However, in truth stated age
has little to no significance in their decision.
All speculation in my previous post now goes out the window - they simply decided that age statements are not good enough. My drawing style does not meet their requirements for what constitutes a legal adult. This despite what one LJ staff member says here indicating that age statements do count for something. Evidently this is not the case.
[…] cluegirl has also been hit with her Strike 1 for an image she had already deleted a week previously, which you can read about here. Folks, that is even more intensely wrong. Clue has been ToSed for an image she already deleted, but was still backed up on LJ's personal caches.
[...]I myself can still pass for a 16 year old. Does that mean if I post a picture of my boobs, I can be ToSed again because LJ Abuse decides they think I look underage? Because obviously age statements don't count for shit.
[2] Furthermore, Livejournal may distinguish between heterosexual and homosexual "underage" art, cutting the former more slack.
Tell me why underaged HETEROsexual sexually explicit pornographic drawings of pre-teen Pokemon characters "does not constitute a violation of the LiveJournal Terms of Service" […].
Pre-teen/teen Pokemon characters fucking:

[3] Thank you for your report. While the content in question is indeed offensive and in poor taste, it does not constitute a violation of the LiveJournal Terms of Service. The content posted is simply an opinion, and we allow the expression of a wide range of opinions on LiveJournal. As long as the content does not explicitly encourage violence or physical harm against a particular social minority, it is not considered hate speech.
[4] The only bit of good news has been
coffeechica’s
apology regarding her comments about anorexia, however one thing she’ll learn if she hasn’t is that people remember the bad much longer and better than the good. Those who were pissed at her, even if they accept her apology, will remember her as that “girl who mad a dumb statement about anorexia”. Fair or not, one thoughtless act tends to overshadow a dozen good ones in situations like this.
