That 9/11 thing

While I in no way wish to take away from the tragedy of 8 years ago, on this day I would like to draw everyone's attention to the tens or hundreds of thousands of people (more?) who die every year from car crashes, hunger, lack of medical care, abuse, neglect, and general hard knocks. Many of these things are even more preventable than terrorism, yet we do very little to acknowledge the problem.

Anyone who wants to make a real difference against one of these problems right now, I recommend this charity. They do fantastic work and they're totally non-political.
