General Update
Stopped up at the barn yesterday and was going to bareback Taco in the ring for a bit, but one of the girls came in I hadn't met yet, and we decided to go for a trail ride. She makes this awesome cookies for the horses that are on sale at the barn. She has been getting orders for them over the internet as well... cool deal. So we chatted alone the way, and she asked me where I moved from. I told her Windmill, and we were chatting about the place, and I was talking how they have quite a few stalls open and I saw an ad that they were offering blocks of stalls 10 and more for a discount of $200 per stall. And she made some comment about them buying a house in Costa Rica. So I asked her how she knew they bought a house in Costa Rica and she tells me she was talking to a guy at Bucks County horse park a few weeks ago at a show she was selling cookies at... and it was SAM! Small world, ain't it. So we were chatting about Sam, she said he seemed like a nice guy, and I said yeah, he has some nice horses and yada yada yada... She noticed Will, the horse Jara was riding that day (I think) and said he was relly nice.
So anyway, she took my up a trail I already knew, but showed me how to extend it about another half an hour, so that was cool. It was a nice trail around a corn field. The farmers in that area actually plow a wide path along the edges and let us ride their property. It is so nice up there, buecause it is at the top of a hill and you get nice glimpes of the valley and the farms below. We got back and chatted a little more with another lady there and gave the horses a bath.
Went up again today, and no one was there, so I pulled Taco's mane (A horse chewed off a good chunk... what is it with horses chewing on his mane, damn it) and he was being a champ while I did it. I only got about halfway done, and I called it quits for today. Need to take a few more inches off to even it out. Tacked him up and took him along the same loop. Came back, hosed him off, gave him some of the yummy cookies I had leftover from yesterday and came home.
By that time I was pretty hot, so I changed into my suit and jumped in the neighbors pool. Her granddaughter saw me out there (she's like 5) and wanted to come out and swim with me... so she came out with her mother and I played with her in the pool, letting her dunk me underwater, and throwing her around. She had a blast. So did I... then came inside to clean the house Blech... but it started to rain, so it looks like I got all the fun stuff done at the right time :) Taking a break now.... gotta get back to more cleaning, a shower bills and grocery shopping :P None of which I want to do (except the shower!)
All in all, a pretty perfect summer day :)
