Wow, what a nice day...
My parents came up today and arrived just before 11. They brought bagels and coffee and we sat in the yard for a bit before heading out the play golf. It was a bit hot, but the course we were on had quite a few trees (for the good and the bad of it LOL). Our tee time was noon. It was abit backed up, so it was a prety leisurely game, which is fine with me, I have only played maybe a total of 10 times, and that is like once or twice a year, occassionaly three, although I have been to the driving range a million. I drove in the cart with mom and dad had his own. So we got to chat quite a bit. I did fairly well. Didn't et any par holes this time around, but that isn;t unusual, though I have had my share. I would say I played about a 128 (not including a handful of muligans, though I didn't take as many as I have in the past :P) Not good by a regular golfers standards, but nto bad for someone who doesn't play much. I was definitely falling apart towards the end. It is easy to underestimate the amount of shape yo need to be in to play this game, and we didn't even walk the course, we drove it! Game took a while, I guess it was about 5 when we were done, so it was a nice long day outside, but it was a great day for it. Nice course, thought he gnats were starting to get to us towards the end. Not every hole, but every so often.. must have been the damper spots, it did rain 2 days ago.
Afterwards we came back to the hosue to clean up a bit and went out to dinner for italian. Good food and of course too much of it! The dropped me off and headed home. We managed to spend about 8 hours together and got along the entire time :) And didn't talk about the bro, SIL and kids TOO much LOL...
They are supposed to be coming up the end of this month, I think. Looking forward to seeing them, since I am pretty positive I will NOT be going to FL this year. Don't really want to, quite frankly. FL in August is not exactly how I picture a vacation, not that I have the money to take on in the first place. Not that it would cost much to go there perse, but having to find and pay someone to care for the animals is incentive enough to not go, because any savings I MIGHT have staying with them would pretty much be cancelled out.
Sold some items on ebay this week, so got to ship them out tomorrow. Didn't make a whle lot of money on everything, but probably about $50 total... not too shabby. A few extra bucks to spend on something this summer... maybe a massage... THAT would be nice...
So that;s about it... nothing too exciting, but a nice day in general...
Hard to beleive I've been out of work almost a whole month now. Boy the time flies... sometimes I don't know how I fit life in around working... and I don't envy people that get 2 or 3 vacation days I year... but I do work my ass of during the times I do work ;)
