This is a short battle. Only one week or so. We can STOP LOBLAWS NOW.
We need enough anti-Loblaws councilors to out number Andy Wells & his allies.

DON'T BE A WASTED VOTE. YOUTH VOTES CAN TIP THE BALANCE.

GET ACTIVE. TELL YOUR FRIENDS. Phone friends & family in the west end and get them to vote. Have them phone their friends.

DID YOU KNOW:

- Stadium land was rezoned 'Commercial Regional' to approve Loblaws. That's Stavanger Drive Big Box zoning: gas stations, malls permissible on Quidi Vidi Lake.

-It would cost zero to rezone Stadium land back to 'recreational'.

-quote: "There were various views on what the building was worth... probably the commercial value was nil." -Ron Penney - City Solisitor & Chief Councilor.
Supreme Court proceedings June 18, 2005, taken under oath.

- Commissioner John Roil's report rejected re-zoning for Loblaws (as inappropriate land use, creating traffic & parking problems, negatively impacting historic, residential east end etc). Wells, Breen, O'Keefe, Coombs, Hickman, & Dinn overruled and rejected his report.

- There has been ongoing massive public opposition to the Loblaws project. eg: Sportscaster Bob Cole presented a 12,000 name petition opposing development to City Councilors.
