Well I'm at uni using the crappy library computers because I don't have the internet at home yet, but I phoned this morning and sorted it so (fingers crossed everyone!) we'll have 1mbs broadband in ten days time! I can't wait... (mainly to download the new WoW patch and get back to levelling my new characters on the new rp-pvp realm), I'll be able to actually surf the internet without having to walk to uni and hunt for a pc that's not in use... I've spent too much time going up and down the lift looking searching floors.
I'm currently on the history floor so there's lots of scary history peeps around. There was a piece of paper under my keyboard that has alsorts of boring dates on; makes me glad I didn't do history.
As I'm spending all my bored time playing either Tales of Symphonia (though I've got to a hard bit again so I'm losing interest hehe) and Sims 2, I decided to purchase a few new games today.
You may or may not know that emma and myself purchased a round glass bowl and two goldfish. Emma named her fish Nigel and I named mine Turkleton (I'd explain but if you don't know then go buy yourself a Scrubs dvd). Unfortunately while I was in Sheffield this weekend, Turk died :( I wasn't too upset when Emma told me cuz I have a bit of a bad history with fish (they die) and I was expecting it cuz he didn't look too great when I left. I tihnk I'll get a Turk #2 on the way home today.
I actually came into uni today (on my day off!!) to get some crap off a floppy disk for my European Gothic module. The lecturer (who looks like Mario and went to Oxford - speaks like it too) has all our reading on floppy disks and doesn't listen when everyone tells him they don't have floppy disk drives on computers now. This is the second floppy i've tried, the first got stuck and had to be removed with pliers :/ very embarrassing... but this one worked, woo.
None of my modules seem crap so far; European Gothic seems ok with it's vampire films and strange lecturer who's obsessed with eroticism and orientalisation. Arts Reviewing seems like a load of fun - I'm going to review the Bloc Party gig I'm going to with James in a few weeks for my coursework. Irish Literary Revival is a bit history heavy but there's some good texts and the tutor is good at getting across everything you need to know. Contemporary Poetry is fun, it's so nice to be doing modern stuff for once. Apart from the Gotic, i've got the same tutor dude for everything, and Contemp. Poetry follows Irish Lit. so I have 4 hours on a thursday of the same guy... but it's not too bad.
Well I just realised I'm absolutely starving and I still have to go food shopping and get emma some oranges (she's all poorly sick bless her), so I'm going.
xx
