This is just a quick post to say I had a fantastic time in Florida going to Disney World and Star Wars Weekends!  I traveled to Florida all the way from California with RL/501st/Fan Force friends Matt and Dale. What a great way to spend a vacation, Disney and Star Wars all rolled into one! And people who were approved to march in the parade with ( Read more... )

Honestly, I have not gone without sleep like that since I was about 19 years old. I've tried to go without sleep at conventions and failed miserably. Somehow I guess just the excitement of it being Disney World kept me going. And I made sure I took a ton of vitamins every day.

Mmm yes, vitamins are good. Is there anything you find particularly helpful for faintness/lightheadedness (esp. during that certain week of the month)? I remember you mentioning that problem in your review of Costume Con. I've been having problems with dizziness recently, despite taking hideous amounts of vitamins and eating lots of red meat.

Well, I might have been getting sick during Costume Con too. It was strange. But it usually helps to take Iron supplements, as it can be common for people to become anemic around that icky time of the month :( Eating things with iron in them helps too, but sometimes may not be enough.

I guess I just got lucky on this trip. I took vitamin C and Zinc every day too since those are both supposed to help your immune system. I guess it all worked, and I was lucky this was not at the same time as Costume Con! Come to think of it, just about EVERY con is at a bad time for me. Why are all these big cons at the end of the month?

This might sound a bit crazy, but I found that I can push my natural schedule around a bit by taking or not taking calcium supplements (the one I'm taking now is calcium + magnesium + zinc). When I was taking them diligently, I was getting about 6 week cycles. When I stop taking the supplements, it's 5 weeks. I haven't had a conflict with a convention or event in a long time, I might add. Thank goodness for that!

Of course, if you're on an unnatural schedule, I assume it's even easier to push around the date, depending on how much medicine you're stocking.

Wow, I take Calcium magnesium and zinc but I've never noticed a way in which i can push my schedule around. I'm not on any medications either. If this keeps up though and my conventions keep getting ruined I may consider going on something for a short time just to off-set the cycle to a new time. LOL!
