NaNoWriMo End of Week One

Nov 08, 2010 23:11

My one public NaNo post for the week. I meant to make this yesterday, which was technically the end of one week, but I didn't write at all yesterday and I felt bad about it.

Anyway, my current word count:

22673 / 50000
(45.35%)

The story's coming along well enough. I've hit a part where I'm floundering a little (okay, a lot), and I'm tempted to skip it and move on to a part where something happens. But as of right now I'm still slogging through the scene because at the end of the day it's more words.

I need to get to some write-ins. There are a ton going on here. Almost one every night. But they're usually at 7:00 in the evening. When I get home from work I rarely go back out again, mostly for gas reasons (it's back up to $3 a gallon here, ugh). And 7:00 is late enough that I can't really just hang out at work until then and hit the write-in on my way home. But I'd like to get to know some of the other NaNoers in the area better.
