Back again

I've decided I'm really bad at this whole keeping a livejournal thing. I'm no good at writing regularly, or keeping up with my friends list. I eventually slack off and then get so far behind that I give up until the next time I start over. So I guess after being MIA this is me attempting to keep up semi-regularly.

I guess I can start with what I've been up to for the last 2 and a half months. Spent most of December in PA with family. It was lots of fun. I got to spend lots of time with my nephew, who is the cutest little boy in the whole wide world (I am slightly bias). Then I spent a week in SC, packing up my stuff and saying goodbye to all the friends I made there over the last 2 and a half years. I really miss them and I hope the few that claim they're moving here actually do. It'll be nice to not have all of them be so far away.

A good friend of mine and I spent another week in January driving from SC to CA. It was a long but fun trip. We made it in 4 days, with only 1 speeding ticket (I'm glad to say it wasn't mine, although I did get a written warning less than two hours earlier - those Texans and sticklers for their speed limit) and we got to visit some relatives on the way, which is always a bonus.

I've spent the last month moving into my apartment and working. I arrived in CA a month ago this past Wednesday, and I it already feels like it's been longer than that. I can't believe I already started and finished a PA job.

The apartment is almost done. I'm waiting for my kitchen chairs to be shipped, and aside from some random stuff for decorating and small furniture, it's pretty complete and starting to feel like home. It's nice to not have 3 different addresses that are all getting mail and have some sort of relevance to billing, school or insurance purposes. And I've only got my car insurance and registration left to worry about to complete my move here. I'm hoping to take care of all that this coming week.

Now I'm just looking for jobs and trying to learn and experience as much as I can. I'm excited about it. I'm also excited cause now I get to hang out with bdbdb and toscem on a somewhat regular basis (when we're not too busy anyway).
