During all of Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, a wintry mix of ice rain descended on Kansas City and its neighboring towns. The local schools were closed because road conditions were too terrible. Since my mother works for the school, my father pours concrete (not a good idea in this weather), and my sister and her fiance are jobless freeloaders, they all got to stay home. I, however, had to get up extra early (I have to be there at 6:45 to open the bank) to free my car out of it's two-inch icy prison. Once I got outside I saw this.
I seems that several limbs on our tree had broken that night and one of them fell very close to my car (which was really fun to move out of the way when it was frozen to the ground). I eventually got there a little late in order to help my exactly 10 customers (that's 1.2 customers/hour) that stupidly decided to come into the bank. One of them cashed a check for $3.01. It's idiots like this that make me come into work on a day that looks like a frozen apocalypse.
