Room 223 - Monday Morning

[kawalsky]

Kawalsky was staring at the ceiling. If he still had the room to himself, he'd probably be bouncing a red rubber ball against the wall in a very meta kind of way. However, now he had a roommate, so he was silent and staring at the ceiling. His phone call to Sam was weighing pretty heavily on his mind. He'd been building up to this for a while.

"Hrm, it's too early to go running, Vala." Cameron muttered, because you know, he was so used to her waking him up.

[kawalsky]

Kawalsky shook his head and couldn't help but smirk a little at how hung up Cam was over Vala. Pity it hadn't worked out, but eh, women. What could you do?

He grabbed his pillow and tossed it at Cam. "Rise and shine, Camboy!" Kawalsky hollered.

"Wha?" Cameron fought with the pillow as if it were a vampire, then belatedly realised it was a pillow. He threw it back at Kawalsky and sat up in bed. "I'm up. What is it?" He said while yawning. So much for being a morning person.

[kawalsky]

"Well, if you really wanna know, I'm trying to recruit you for a dangerous covert mission that could get us killed or expelled. But if you feel like going back to sleep..."

[cameronmitchell]

Okay, that got him to wake up. "I'm listening."

[kawalsky]

He leaned forward, resting his forearms on his knees. "The mission is pretty simple. Covert entry, secure the target, contain the target and get the containment vessel and the target out of the building and to a drop point where it can be retrieved by people who can do something about it."

"Okay," Cameron moved to the edge of the bed so he faced Kawalsky. "What target exactly are we talking about here?"

[kawalsky]

Kawalsky stood up. "He's about this tall." He gestured a little taller than himself. "Wears a lot of leather and teaches one of my classes."

[cameronmitchell]

Cameron blinked. "You want to abduct a teacher? I'm going to assume it's not about a bad report card."

[kawalsky]

Kawalsky scratched at his forehead. "Camulus could give me an A+ and it wouldn't change anything. I know it's a little early in the morning to bring her up, but did Vala ever mention the word 'Goa'uld'?"

Goa'uld was, of course, badly pronounced. However, that was the least of Kawalsky's worries. He was treading into dangerous territory here. But he trusted Cam. He wanted Cam's help on this, but he wasn't going to make him walk into it without knowing what he was agreeing to, or disagreeing to.

Cameron stiffened at the mention because Vala had told him a great lot about it. He nodded slowly. "Aliens who like to use people as their host and get them to do pretty lousy things without asking once of the host is okay with it. They also like to take over planets and make people their slaves. That sort of gould?"

[kawalsky]

"'Host' is a pretty tame word for it. One of those things is a snake about this long," he used his hands to demonstrate based on what the doctors had told him when he had one of them wrapped around his spinal column. "With big son-of-a-bitch fangs and tendrils. They jump in through the back of the neck." He tapped his neck. "Then they wrap themselves around the spine and shove stuff into your brain so they can control it. They can make you walk, make you talk, make you kill people. Your body becomes their body and there's nothin' you can do it about it." It was taking all of his self-control not to squirm at the thought. "Camulus is one of them. Well, the snake inside the head is anyway. The body? Probably some poor schmuck who got picked because he looked good in a kilt."

Cameron shuddered. While Vala had told him what it had been like for her, these details just added to the horror of it all. He clenched his fists and it certainly didn't escape him that Kawalsky seemed to know exactly what he was talking about. "Can they get it out of him? The people we're bringing him to, I mean."

[kawalsky]

"I dunno. Maybe. But I do know they can use him for information so they can stop some of his pals who don't have the luxury of a teaching job and have to make a living the old-fashioned way. That's good enough for me."

[cameronmitchell]

"And for me." Cameron nodded. "I'm in. Whatever you need me to do."

[kawalsky]

That was exactly what he'd been hoping to hear. Kawalsky nodded. "Good to know, man. You know what this is gonna mean, right? If we get caught, we could get expelled or pretty badly hurt. If he's got one of them device thingies on him, he could even kill us."
