Fridays were always tiring. Kawalsky was tired, so he slept.. and dreamed.
He was at a Starbucks. Cam and Crichton walked away from the counter chatting about bagels and the big furry guy, Han's guardian, pushed Kawalsky forward in the line. Callisto was standing behind the counter wearing leather, lots of leather. "Welcome to Starbucks, what can I get you?"
"Uh.."
Behind him, Chewbacca growled at him to hurry up. "What?" he asked Callisto. Callisto lunged across the counter and stabbed him in the neck with two fingers. Kawalsky gagged and grabbed at his neck.
"I've just cut off the flow of blood to your brain. You have thirty seconds to make up your damn mind about your drink." She had that menacing look, the kind when he'd done something stupid and she wanted him to know that he'd done something stupid.
"Pumpkin.. spice.. frappucino," Kawalsky choked.
Callisto's expression brightened into a smile. She reached over and released the pressure. Charlie dropped to his knees, gasping for air. When he looked up again, he was no longer in the Starbucks, but back at Stargate Command. He staggered to his feet and looked around at the embarkation room.
"Fore!" Sam yelled. Jack pulled the lever on the catapult and the pumpkin went soaring through the open Stargate with a satisfying 'sploosh'.
"What are you doin?" Kawalsky asked.
Sam and Jack turned to look at him. "Kawalsky!" Jack said, clapping him on the back. Jack started coughing and couldn't seem to stop.
"We're sending projectiles through to Camulus' base," Sam answered while Jack started coughing up blood.
"Projectiles? Pumpkins?"
"Goa'uld are allergic to pumpkins," Sam assured him, then turned to look up at the briefing room. "Right Janet?"
Janet poked her head out the briefing room window. "What?" Charlie didn't remember those windows being moveable.
"Goa'uld are allergic to pumpkins, right?"
"Right! Hey Charlie. It's about time you showed up. Come up here, join in on the fun." Jack was still coughing up blood, but Charlie wandered out of the room and up the stairs to the control room, and then up more stairs to the briefing room. He had to duck as soon as he reached the top of the stairs. Anders and Adama were playing catch complete with baseball gloves and a ball, acting as if they knew what they were doing.
Janet was still hanging out the window. Parker was at the head of the long oak table with her feet propped up on the surface, complete with those fancy shoes of hers. She was reading a copy of the Fandom Hightimes and behind her, in place of the SGC logo, was the Fandom High school crest. "Hey Kawalsky," Parker said. Zero, Aeryn and Rory were sitting at the table as well.
Charlie waved at Parker, but something behind him distracted him. He opened the door to the General's office. The Tick was sitting at Hammond's desk (or what he remembered to be Hammond's desk) talking on the red phone. Tex was sitting silently in the corner in her armor. "Yes sir, Mr President!" The Tick said into the phone. "Why, he's right here, sir! I'll get him for you. Major K! The President would like to speak to you."
Kawalsky took the phone. "Hello?"
"Major Kawalsky, this is President Bartlet."
"Hello, Mr President. What can I do for you, sir?"
"Hang up the phone and answer the door, Major."
There was a knock at the other door to the office. He handed the phone back to The Tick and walked over to the door. Tex stood and opened the door for him, then shoved him through. Kawalsky spun around, but the door was gone. The entire SGC was gone. He looked at his surroundings. It was as if he was surrounded by piles of rubble. Then, before he had a chance to move, someone tackled him to the ground.
"Oof! What the..?"
"Shut up!" John Connor hissed. "What the hell do you think you're doing out here in the middle of the day? The machines will track your movement."
"What?"
"Shh!" They stayed low and silent as an advanced H-K flew overhead. "Come on, Kawalsky." Connor got to his feet and dragged Kawalsky up with him. They were on the move. They darted from pile of rubble to pile of rubble.
"Where are we?"
"What, did you hit your head or something?" Connor's expression turned from angry to concerned. "You don't recognize our old stomping grounds? Welcome to Fandom, Kawalsky. Now serious, did you hit your head? I can't have my second in command with concussion."
"No, I'm fine, just a little.." He looked around. There was nothing left except rubble. Was this what was to come? "Where's Liz?"
"Who?"
"Liz. Elizabeth. Where is she?"
Connor shook his head. "Come on, K, let's get you to Doc House."
"Where is she, John?"
"She died, K. They all died. Don't you remember?"
He didn't remember. He hated not remembering. He had eight years unaccounted for. What had Loki made him forget?
Charlie didn't jolt awake. He simply slipped from sleep to being awake. Frowning, he gathered his senses and sat up. Everyone was where they were supposed to be. Charlie slid out of bed, grabbed yesterday's clothes from the top of his footlocker and got dressed, then pulled on his shoes. He wasn't going to get back to sleep. He headed out to wait for the clinic to open so he could sit with Jack and not think about the fact that he didn't remember.
[OOC: Kawalsky will be 'around' today.. 'around' meaning present, but very difficult to find as he's likely somewhere that you aren't. The mun is being a good little studentbot and staying offline for as long as possible to get work done so more unhindered FH time will be available during the week. Yay!]
