OVERALL:
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
negl I was expecting to write a lot more but I got caught up with real life and writer's block would hit me for weeks on end, so yeah. sobs.
Did you take any writing risks this year?
new pairings, new writing styles, new genres. I think I stepped out of my creative comfort zone a bit too.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
writing more various genres, trying out different AUs besides the ones I'm comfortable with. I have yet to venture into the land of writing full-on nc-17 smut and slash, but maybe this year? hahaha~
BEST AND WORST:
My best story of this year:
under my skin: my most recently posted story and it is definitely my baby. I had a lot of fun coming up with the characterization of awkward Baekhyun and girl power Luna and the funny thing is that I intended this to be a drabble since I was having a massive writers block on another fic and this monstrosity is 4k words long.
My most popular story of this year:
sunshine lane: I was actually surprised by the feedback I got haha. this was a new pairing and when I wrote it I was thinking about my childhood at my grandma's garden, so I guess this has a piece of me?
perhaps, maybe: this drabble here was just a plot bunny sitting in my drafts but apparently people liked it? I have no idea tbh
(drop dead) beautiful: I actually loved writing this piece so much. I wrote Krystal as the girl who doesn't take any shit and Kai as the sleezy player (but not really) and this was all wrapped up in high school & dance studio au and ugggggh, flawless otp is flawless
Story of mine most under-appreciated by the universe, in my opinion:
under my skin: I think it's mostly because of the pairing, but I absolutely loved writing this fic (and elle can attest to the fact that I kept throwing fits over this but I eventually finished writing in 4 days, yay)
tick tock: I have to say that I put in a lot of time and effort into this fic, and it's kind of a shame that it was only 7k words since I spent nearly a month writing it. it's based off the kdrama 49 days and it is probably the most difficult piece I have ever written (in that trying to keep to the original idea of the drama and making it all my own also.) I'm not exactly happy with the end result, but this was my first attempt at a long fic.
Most fun story to write:
under my skin: (again) my love for this story is infinite okay
the day's end: again, a new and weird pairing but ugh. it was a lot of fun writing this and I had so many ideas but university au always works, LOL
Story with the single sexiest moment:
everything i'm not: because there's actual sex, i guess. IDK THIS IS THE BEST SMUT I CAN DO I'M SORRY
Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
my exo drabbles
one thousand,
crash and burn, and
master of none. when i first started writing these my intention was to dig into the "darker, and deeper" side of being an idol and what they have given up and how the persona they have in front of the cameras is different from who they really are. I also wanted to play with the idea that not everyone is as good as we want to believe them to be.
Hardest story to write:
EVERYTHING, OMFG. I hate picking a ship, a plot, a setting just sjkfghjlsdhgjl uGH. I wish I was more creative sobs.
I'd probably go with my exo drabbles (from above) since it was just really hard to view being an idol from a different perspective and how not everything is just love from fans. it's hard work and effort, and lots and lots of sacrifices (sleep and not being able to date is just the tip of the iceberg)
Biggest disappointment
strawberry, peach: even though it is one of my favorites, it really doesn't make any sense. sighs.
Biggest surprise:
the amount of pairings I now ship. UGH. I feel the urge to write them all (especially taeyeon/chanyeol, I have yet to do that)
Most unintentionally telling story:
hmm, maybe
still is life? idk, it's partially based off on a one-sided crush I had on someone and yeah.
WIP TEASERS
still really busy with school (and my nonexistent life) and writer's block sucks but...
a tao/luna fic set in university. I have a relative idea of what I want to write about but no set-in-stone plot yet. it'll be angst to the max, tao-centric, and set in an arts university (tao is the new chinese transfer student)
YOUR FIC (THE REC LIST)
so many exo fics I'm sorry:
