I managed to finish a book. Finished Nigella Lawson's biography last night. Only took me 20 weeks. o_O
And I know what youre thinking ... "Big deal ... you read a book ... I read more than that in a weekend." But I read slower than molasses uphill in January. How I survived college Ill never know.
Anyway, its onto Paula Deen's autobiography, or as she calls it, her memoirs, now. Unlike the Nigella book, its written first person, so it might be a faster read. Im taking it on my trip.
Speaking of my trip, Ive made lists of things I need to remember to take, and today after folding last night's laundry, Im laying everything out for packing so I dont forget anything. Cant believe Im flying tomorrow.
Should be a good weekend, though, at least activity wise. Dad has things planned out.
He picks me up tomorrow, and we wont do much ... probably get Chinese for dinner. We should probably hit the grocery store at some point.
Sunday, my aunt and uncle arrive, so that should be a good time, and we are going to the Towne House -- the place we had both my wedding reception and Mom's wake -- for dinner. Other than that, we'll just chill.
Monday is the big day. Andrew has to be there at 1:30, but we probably wont go til like 2 to get (hopefully) decent seats. We'll have dinner following at a restaurant Jen chose. Cant remember the name at the moment, but the website made it look pretty swank.
Tuesday, my aunt, uncle, dad, and I are going to the Constitution Center for a look around. We'll meet John and Andrew back at Andrew's place for dinner ... probably in the restaurant in the downstairs of the building where Andrew lives. Not sure if Mike -- his roommate -- or Jen wll be joining us. I assume Jen will.
Wednesday, nothing's planned. I fly back in the evening, and Adrian will pick me up.
Thats about it. Im glad its full of things to do, but not too full. It will keep me from stressing about stuff back here.
Adrian will be fine without me. He'll probably make fresh pasta and new sauce recipes that would dazzle me. That and gyoza. I bet he will make some gyoza, too. He's a better cook than I am now.
Anyway, plans for the usual housework, getting the PVR as cleaned up as possible so I can tape things while Im gone, and getting packed. Should be a busy day.
