Physical Appearance- If you see Rurutia on the street you see her as a beautiful but ordinary Japanese woman. Yet something about her turns heads, ever since a young age she was able to command the attention of everyone in the room. Her body structure is thin and bony, but in a chiseled fashion similar to American supermodels. Like most Japanese women she is cursed with a short stature and it constantly bothers her since she hates it when people look down on her. Her hair is slightly bleached to a reddish-brown and her eyes are the normal Japanese “black” eyes.
When this girl dresses up to put on her magnificent shows, she is completely transformed. Her charisma is maxed out and she is done up to look exotic. Her hair is lightened to a more brownish shade, her lips are accentuated to show off their fullness. Braids, extensions, curls even masks grace her head. On her body there are either one extreme of tribal wear, or another of floaty, fairy type material. She likes to sell herself as a non-traditional magician , a more modern one. She also likes to make her image the opposite of what the traditional magicians have their “lovely assistants” whose role she hates with a passion.
Personality- Rurutia has a personality that says: I’m on top of the world and there’s nothing you can do about it. She looks down at men and is a true blue feminist. Fueled from a child, when she was treated retarded just because she was a woman, people wouldn’t take anything she did seriously and it pissed her off. When she got into the business of magic it got worse and she is determined to change the sexist image of magic.
She is, however, a good person and fiercely loyal. Once you get past her cold exterior she grows to be a caring sarcastic (but in a good way). She likes to joke, but she would never seriously hurt anyone
History- Born Yumiko Takagawa, Rurutia grew up in Osaka and was known as a loudmouth brat of a child who always spoke out of line and was constantly being punished throughout elementary and middle school. Her family was that of a single working mother and a younger brother. She spent her early years being teased for standing out and her family situation, she of course didn’t take their teasing and would play pranks on her classmates and mouth them off when they would say things that were out of line. Rurutia also grew up very over protective of her younger brother who was an artist by nature.
In her last year of middle school Rurutia noticed more and more how girls were looked down upon in society and she started to grow a chip on her shoulder about it. To prove everyone of her worth she set her sights upon one of the toughest high schools to get into and studied hard and long to get into it. To everyone’s surprise, she passed the entrance exam with flying colors and even got a scholarship, which was good since her single mother didn’t have all that much to spare.
In High School she started being looked down for a whole new thing, money. She was known as the loudmouthed nerd. After a year, Rurutia easily shed half that image at least, as it was obvious that she wasn’t all about studying. She tried out for the girls volleyball squad, and even though she was short her skill was apparent. She also joined the magic club and for the first time she was introduced to the wonder of magic tricks. In her final year of High School she quit volleyball and started focusing on magic. She was named president of the club and her popularity rose as her talent for magic was incredibly obvious. It was around then when she started creating the persona of ‘Rurutia’.
Friends in the school used their connections to get her a gig and her younger brother, who was now in a specialized fashion school acted as her stylist, designing ways to keep her actual identity under wraps. The show was only average (close to flopping) that first time, but every show got better and soon her name was well known around Osaka.
Osaka, however, was a small territory to conquer in comparison to Tokyo. The Osakan girl worked at many part time jobs after High School to earn enough money to travel, and now that she has, the 20 year old woman is heading towards Tokyo and searching for a place to stay in a town close to the famous city.
She hasn’t found a place to stay yet, but tonight she’s stopping in Akachou and she’s hoping to catch a break in finding an apartment building to share.
Career- Rurutia is a magician by night, and a waitress by day until her night job can support her.

Sample- Rurutia stared at the stage. It was the biggest stage in Osaka and for one night she would get to perform on it. It would be her last performance in the Kansai area before she headed towards Tokyo. As depressing as it was that the only reason she got this stage was for a private performance for her rich ass friends, it was still a huge stage and she knew that she had to take her magic straight to the epicenter of Japan for it to go off fast.
“Ms. Rurutia, can you tell us where to put your equipment?” Rurutia turned around to see the stage’s staff carrying her stuff.
“There,” she replied pointing to the corner of the stage.
In Tokyo no one would know that Rurutia was Yumiko Takagawa. Her friends had already wiped her real name from every connection to the magician Rurutia. Just in case she did get fans she didn’t want them to harass her in real time.
She had heard to many horror stories.
Soon she would show the world that a female magician was ten times better than a male. Soon she would take Japan by storm.
She was sure of it.
