I really enjoy doing these end of the year reviews to look back on the previous year. I've been neglectful of LJ and I am highly considering a move to another blog. I have set up accounts in various other places, but haven't decided which one I want to move to.
*JANUARY*
I had a sort of unsaid resolution, and I reached it! My goal was to start wearing makeup to work everyday. Not a full blown made up face, but at least some eye makeup. Josh and I started off the year beginning our house hunt! We put in an offer on a house, but were too late as it was being sent to auction. We celebrated Josh's birthday by going to see the Lion King at Gammage. I started my second year as a graduate student.
*FEBRUARY*
Celebrated my 28th birthday at Joe's Farm Grill and looked at more houses, deciding to put in an offer on one just across the street from the grill. It was a short sale and we were in for a long wait. My mom also came down for a bit of my birthday weekend. At the end of the month we went to Matsuri Japanese Festival, but it has really lost its excitement over the years.
*MARCH*
Josh and I celebrated our 3rd anniversary and went to the World Wildlife Zoo. I'm sure other exciting things happened, but I didn't post anything about them.
*APRIL*
We went to see CATS, a birthday present from Barbara. I spent too much time playing a silly game on Facebook. We finally got approval on the house at the end of the month.
*MAY*
We took my mom to the Botanical Gardens Chihuly exhibit and I think it was sometime around this that my sister told us she was pregnant. I got over a flare-up by stopping my meds and found a GI doctor that I like. The month to closing was long and filled with tons of paperwork! But we finally got the keys at the end of the month and moved into our first house. I managed to finish my grad classes and signed up for three over the summer.
*JUNE*
I said goodbye to the students that I have had for 2 years. They were a bunch of great kids and I sent them off with a lovely DVD with a cute video and slide show. I even had some of the boys teary-eyed. I went to visit my family in Washington. It was hard to see my grandmother because her mind is deteriorating and i don't know if I will get to see her again.
*JULY*
Finished up the summer classes and went back to work. Had a hard time getting used to a new group of kids, but they turned out to be a pretty good group of kids.
*AUGUST*
Signed up for 2 classes at the same time so that I can graduate in May. The first time I had taken two at the same time, maddening.
*SEPTEMBER*
Started planning a baby shower for my sister and got the Beatles Rockband!
*OCTOBER*
Showered my sister for her baby's arrival and fell in love with Dexter over my Fall Break. Dressed up as Cooking Mama for Halloween.
*NOVEMBER*
Had my second colonoscopy, and it was easier than the first. The prep was not so disgusting and I was out for the whole process. Went to Thanksgiving at Josh's mom's place and then hosted a second dinner for my family at our new place (still in need of unpacking and decorating). Had a burst of reading and finished 7 books this month.
*DECEMBER*
Was lucky to be present for my sister's home birth of baby Desmond. Snuggled with my new nephew. I finished up both classes with As and quite a bit of my time and then signed up for my final class so that I can graduate in May. My brother finished his Bachelor's in Psychology and we had a reception for him at our house. Josh and I didn't get hit with the Christmas spirit. I did a lot of DIY gifts, including Pie-in-a-Jar and not only did we not decorate, we didn't exchange gifts with each other. Nice and stress-free! We had a small Christmas with his mom and grandparents, which was nice. Having a lazy rest of my vacation.
