I had a great birthday, but I must apologize for the text only post.
I got up yesterday and soon after got a birthday call from my dad. Then I started making English Pancakes (aka crepes) and got a birthday call from
honeymellie all the way from Germany! I enjoyed my pancakes and then Josh and I spent the day together, mostly shopping. I found an amazing pencil skirt at Torrid that was on clearance. It was $32, which is still pricey for me, but hey, it was my birthday. Then I look up and the sign said this weekend was 1/2 off the clearance price. Woot! I was checking out and the cashier was looking up my "Diva Card" and needed my birthday. I told her it was today, then I over hear the next cashier to us asking that customer the same question, it was her birthday too! So, we wished each other a happy birthday and I got my cute new skirt (I am planning on buying a new cardigan and then I'll have a photo of it's cuteness). When we got home I discovered that flowers had been delivered from my mother-in-law! That evening I was treated to a fabulous vegan dinner at
Green in Scottsdale by Barbara and Jason and spent the rest of the evening with them.
Today I got to have breakfast at Wildflower with my mom, sister, and brother which was filling and a good time. I always wish my mom could spend more time with me when she comes to visit though.
I got some great gifts including several gift cards (movies, iTunes, food, crafts), books (
The Invention of Hugo Cabret,
Becoming Vegan, and
Vegan Planet). I also got a
Buddha Board from my brother and a shirt from boygirlparty.com (which I already got spaghetti sauce on!). Josh also got me a gift certificate to
Superbuzzy and I cannot decide what fabric to get. I've been through every fabric at least 3 times and still can't decided. Help me! I want to make a skirt and can't pick a fabric!
I miss being 26, it was a good year, I hope 27 is just as enjoyable!
EDIT: I stumbled on some old photos my sister had scanned and sent me. Here is a photo of what I'm sure is my 5th birthday. The My Little Pony Castle was one of my favorite toys and I still regret selling it in a yard sale.
