I missed Monday's post. Well, I am not perfect but I have come too far to give up now. So another double post day. I thought I had skipped more days so Steve had suggested I dedicate a post about each of our animals. However, I did write about the dogs sort of when I made my flickr post, so I will dedicate this post to the cats. Which, I believe there are pictures of them on flickr too.
Steve had Fergie and Crusoe before he met me. I had never had cats before because my mom doesn't like them and my dad had dogs. Fergie and Crusoe are unlike any other cats that I had encountered before. They hate being picked up, but love being petted. If you pet them though they can't seem to sit still. Crusoe is getting better about sitting still, but she doesn't come out to see us all that much. She loves to lay in small spaces or on cushy pillows and lounges all the time. Fergie on the other hand loves to hang out with us, which may be more of an act against the dogs as opposed to coming from a desire to be wtih Steve and I. Fergie doesn't really like the dogs-especially Sabrina. She loves to get right up in our business if we are paying any attention to Sabrina. She is also a lot more vocal lately. She meows at us all the time for reasons unknown. She just looks at us and meows.
Those cats have so many quirks and strange behaviors. I would have to say that despite her age, Crusoe still seems like a kitten to me-she just seems so innocent. Fergie is more worldly-she has actually been outside! Steve sometimes teases me that he is going to let Fergie out because she seems to want to go outside, but I always tell him no! I love those cats and don't want anything to happen to them. Fergie could survive probably, but not Crusoe. She needs us to take care of her. Having these two cats really makes me think that I will always want a cat in my life.
