Steve and I had a very nice Christmas this year. Christmas eve we spent with my parents, my sister, and her bf. We had dinner and then opened our gifts from my parents. Christmas morning we spent at home, then had dinner with my parents again. The parental units put on a feast as usual, and Steve went above and beyond in the gift department. I got Steve a lot of practical gifts this year, but they have already come in handy-so I think they were good gifts.
Steve is off from work again this week, and we have been having fun so far. We went shopping on Sunday, went on a mini-road trip yesterday and went to the movies today. We saw "The Princess and the Frog" with a packed theater of kids. The kids were all pretty well behaved and we enjoyed the movie without distraction. I really liked the movie. The only thing that was a little unusual for me was that I didn't really get into the songs that much. Usually the songs are so good in Disney movies, but nothing grabbed me in this viewing. I think I will have to see it again before deciding.
After that Steve took me to the Redmond mall so that I could look for some shoes I have been wanting. When we finally found them at Macy's we had to walk away because there were only two people working with a lot of customers and I got tired of waiting. I am not sure if it was me and the way I looked that made me invisible, or if it was the icompetence of the employees, but I was ignored the whole time, even when I was right in front of the counter. Well, it happens to us a lot and I am pretty used to it now, but what a hassle. Now I have to go to another store or go back to Macy's by myself because Steve doesn't want to go back. I shouldn't have to dress up to go shopping, but because everyone judges people on the way they look (hey I know, I do it too) I feel like I have to in order to get noticed.
I took the tree and decorations down on Sunday and man does this place feel bigger! I am glad to have that stuff out of here, it was looking pretty cluttered.
Now on to NYE. No plans as of yet. We haven't had an "exciting" NYE in a few years, so I don't really care what happens. If something fun happens, I am sure I will let you all know, lol. ;)
