A week of ups and downs
I went to a job interview at the offices of Dale Chihuly (www.chihuly.com) on Tuesday. I was disappointed to find out that I didn't get the position. They decided to go with someone who had more experience. It would have been a really cool place to work, but I would have been going into a really stressful situation, so I was conflicted about it anyway. So pretty much I have been emotionally all over the place. Job hunting...so fun with a shitty economy.
Other than that things have been going pretty well. Steve and I went to a really cool place for lunch on Sunday called "Lunchbox Laboratory". They have gourmet hamburgers but the restaurant is a super tiny whole-in-the-wall. I love finding places like that.
I finished a project that I have been working on for Valentine's Day. We have not made any decisions on what we will be doing on that day. Steve and I haven't really done much on Valentines day the past few years, and I am not sure if this year will be any different. I was just feeling crafty and had an idea for a homemade gift, so I did it. Since money is tight, maybe we will just have another evening at home. People seem to really get all up in arms over Valentine's Day and whether or not to celebrate it, or how it is a bunch of crap, and endless other arguments over it. I am of the opinion that it is a fun holiday, and it can really be whatever you make of it. You can have fun with it, or choose to ignore it, whatever floats your boat. However it is definitely not something to dwell on or argue about.
So as you can tell, no weekend plans as of yet. Maybe we will see Coraline or something. I have heard good things, even if they didn't end up using They Might Be Giants for the soundtrack. :( I am really just ready for the weekend. I know I don't have a job, but having that instability is really taxing.
