D*con. Ah, D*con. What to say of thee?
So a lot went not-good. Can't lie about that. Nevertheless, all this gets subsumed in the awesomecoolocity that was the other things that happened.
The Good:
- The sword form demonstration went relatively well. There were some oopsies during the finale, but in general, it went well and people cheered and laughed lots. According to Rykie, stage combat evidently makes me "happy."
- Ollie and Brandon made it to con. Has been a long time since I've seen Ollie. Missed her tons. Was all kinds of fun.
- Ego Likeness concert was pretty darn awesome. They're swiftly climbing the ranks of the "Jenn's favorite bands" list. Music = v. hot
- Many many good comments on faire dress. Several pictures taken. Must remember to email Bettina to pass on compliments.
- Many many good comments on makeup done on other people. Several people asked if the CXS logo I drew on Martha was a tattoo. Rogue (leader of CXS) said he almost stopped the concert when he saw it. Woo!
- Now have lots of CDs and autographs and stickers and such. Yay! ^_^
The Awesome:
- The Cruxshadows were *awesome*! Concert was fantastic, love the new songs (esp. Wake The White Queen). Somehow managed to work my way up to the front row, right up against the stage. Woo! Had tons of fun
- Got the most amazing compliment *ever* from Rogue. Seriously made my con. According to the he who has now firmly cemented himself as my favorite lead singer *ever*, I have an amazing smile, the kind that makes everyone around me feel happy when they see it. It's like a superpower. Allow me to say "*squeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!*" Yeah, there's nothing like being told by someone you admire that your smile is like a superpower to make you smile a lot for the next few days.
All in all, pretty good con. Still looking for pictures online. Also, if Brandon/Ollie could send me good pictures that they took, I would be most obliged ^_^
