Pretty Dang good Birthday for a change

Hmmmm.....this year my Birthday was really really fun and I have to admit that has not happened for a while. Let's just say after I turned 25 I thought my life was over and literally moped every Birthday for a very long time. Now that I'm solidly in my 30's I'm coming to the realization that I just don't give a damn about aging anymore. Of course it could have been the fact that seeing Jake Gyllenhaal at Wondercon this weekend helped my mood go up a thousand percent. Funny how a cute movie star can do that to your psyche ^_____^

Wondercon is a smaller, neater,  less chaotic version of Comic Con held right in San Francisco and I went this year with jenlan . The thing I love about Wondercon is that people from the Bay Area have a very low Bullshit meter when it comes to Hollywood, so if Hollywood comes here and acts too LA or Hollywood they will literally get booed off the stage (remembering last year when the dude who directed Terminator Salvation was standing on the stage talking Hollywood trash and some people in the theater booed him, Hilarious).

But I think it also helps the Hollywood types act more normal  when they're here.  Jake was not only incredibly humble, but funny and down to earth as well. We also saw Nicholas Cage who was nice (as he's a big comic book geek anyway and felt at home I guess). But Nick, seriously why the blond hair plugs, they really didn't look good on his already balding head ^_____^

We also saw the premiere of the new season of Doctor Who, which I was a bit worried about because I loved David Tennant as the Doctor and was scared the new guy would be awful. But I have to admit, Matt Smith was really good and has created a new Doctor who is nerdy and lovable at the same time. So my Doctor who worries have been satiated......
