Let Destiny Leads You The Way of Love Final Part D

Part 1 | Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part 6 | Final Part A , B , C

It was long after their lovemaking session that both Yunho and Changmin, staying on top of the mattress, seemed to never bother with the sticky mess of comes and sweats around them. Still naked, they entangled their bodies together. Changmin laid his head on Yunho’s chest while Yunho was sprawled on his back. His hand was stroking Changmin’s hair lovingly. Words were left untold as they enjoyed the silence. The night was still young and astounding for them. They were really tired after working at the hospital, not mentioning the activity they had done a moment ago. But they didn’t feel the urge to fall asleep on each other as the need of relishing the feeling of their bodies so close was so strong.

Changmin closed his eyes momentarily, randomly drawing various shapes of picture on Yunho’s chest with his finger, feeling peaceful under Yunho’s touch over his head, and the sound of Yunho’s beating heart in his ear.

He took a deep breath. Collecting the courage to talk to Yunho seemed so difficult to him. But he knew exactly what he wanted to say and it had to be said. Now…

“Yunho…”

“Hmmm?”

“Are you still mad at me?” Changmin bit his lower lip expecting Yunho’s answer, and tried hard to calm himself when he felt Yunho stopped stroking his hair.

He heard Yunho sighs.

“Honestly… I don’t know, Min, but I guess I really don’t want to be angry with you anymore. I’m drained and I don’t have much left energy to be so.”

Changmin slid his hand around Yunho’s abdomen, holding on tightly. “I’m sorry…” He said weakly, but so earnestly.

Yunho silenced, but his ears kept on listening. He really didn’t know how to reply that, because he had already forgiven him, and he thought he will let Changmin explain everything.

“I really do, Yunho-yah…”

Yunho smiled over the nickname Changmin gave him. It had been too long since he heard the endearment coming from Changmin’s mouth.

“I know Changmin, I know…”

“I’m so sorry, Yunho-yah… I don’t know how to explain… I hurt you and you know it’s the last thing that I want to do.”

Yunho grabbed Changmin’s hand and held it tightly on his chest, squeezing it lightly to reassure Changmin. “I’m not going to pretend that it didn’t hurt, but I’m okay, Min. You’re back to me. You’re okay. You’re perfect. And that’s all that matters to me now.”

Changmin nodded, pressing a light kiss on Yunho’s chest to show Yunho what his words meant to him.

“Aren’t you going to tell me where you’ve been these past five years?”

Changmin took a deep breath and it felt warm against Yunho’s skin. “Busan.” He answered.

“Busan?”

Changmin nodded. “I was born in Busan and we moved to Seoul when I was 6 years old.” Changmin stopped for a while. The memories since he first stepped into the town were still well registered in his mind. “I wasn’t planning to go there in the first place, but then I changed my mind.”

“Is there any particular reason why you wanted to go there?” Yunho asks again.

“I went back to our old house, Yunho… My parent’s death and all of their problems affected me so much, leaving me so many bad memories I wanted to erase. And I wanted to go back to the time where everything was fine, where we lived happily as one family.” Changmin smiled to the memory of their old house. “My father bought it with his own money when he married my mother. And when the problems with the corporation occurred, it was the only thing that he didn’t sell for paying his debts, because he didn’t have the heart to do so. It was his pride and it was also filled with so many memories of our little happy family.”

Yunho brought his hand to wrap on Changmin’s waist, tightening his grip while listening to Changmin’s story.

“I was trying to start from the very beginning, where there was nothing but love and happiness. I tried to leave all the sadness and difficulties that I’ve been through… I wanted to leave it all behind, and be another person. A new person… A better person… And I thought it was a perfect place to begin with. And do you know what I did the moment I entered the house?”

Changmin held him tight. Tears were on the corners of his eyes, and he held them back with a great effort, not wanting to let Yunho worrying more for him. But the thought of Yunho beside him and holding him close, gave Changmin a great relief, a greater support to go on more than everything in this world.

“I… I cried, Yunho. I was crying… It was the first time… so long since my parents died. I was crying for them… I called for my mother… I called for my father desperately… I screamed for them, repeatedly yelling, asking them why did they have to leave me alone in this world. I did something I never did even during their funeral…”

Yunho startled, feeling Changmin begin to tremble in his hold. And Yunho felt a sudden pain inside his heart. He shifted his body, getting up to take a sitting position with his back against the bed’s headboard. He moved Changmin’s body up as well, entrapping his lover between his legs. He pulled his lover into his embrace, Changmin’s back against his chest and his arms immediately sliding protectively around Changmin. He laid his chin on Changmin’s shoulder after giving him assurance, reassuring kiss at the side of his head.

Changmin couldn’t take this anymore. When he felt Yunho’s affectionate touch around him, he couldn’t stand the pain anymore and the tears began to flow down his face. He started sobbing.

“I-I don’t know Yunho. T-the pain of losing my parents was s-suddenly c-coming b-back to me…” Changmin continued, stammering in his words and Yunho kept listening, not even a single thought to stop Changmin coming into his mind. Changmin needed this. He needed to release everything that was weighing his heart. And Yunho’s presence was the only one capable to give Changmin the freedom of doing so.

A sharp intake of breath hit Changmin as a large amount of air being forced into his lungs, and he tried his best to control the squeezing feeling inside his chest. “As if my h-heart was being opened… A-as if my mind was f-forced to remember the pain that I-I’ve been putting aside, revealing the thought t-that I have buried so deep inside. And I-I couldn’t stop… u-until there were no more tears c-coming out f-from my eyes and every d-despair a-and anger burst out from my m-mouth.”

Changmin sniffled, calming himself from his stutters. He rubbed his eyes away of tears. “But after that… I-I didn’t know why, but I felt so light, as if there was a heavy weight lifted from my chest… A-And there was a moment when I was just sitting, unmoving and calming every emotion down and letting my heart healing on its own. After that…” He takes a deep breath. “I felt like I was born anew. It was the feeling of acceptance and I did accept that it was my fate, my path of living, and I was aware that there’s nothing to be sorry about and the only thing I must keep in mind was the need to appreciate my life. And that was when I thought about you…”

Changmin turned his face and pressed his lips on Yunho’s cheeks for a moment and Yunho closed his eyes, relishing the way Changmin’s lips were giving him a feeling of contentment. “I thought about the way you changed me… I thought the way you brought the smile to my lips… I thought about the way your love was growing so big, here…” Changmin took Yunho’s hand and placed it on the left side of his chest, right where his heart was beating with a steady rhythm inside him.

Yunho’s heart was beginning to thump a little bit faster. He had no idea of how Changmin’s simple act could make him feel this way, as if he was falling in love all over again with the younger man. And Yunho brought their lips together again for countless time that night. It was a simple kiss yet so perfect, and when they broke from the kiss, Changmin’s mismatched-eyes-smile greeted him, there were still glints of tears, but it was soon to be dissolved in Changmin’s peaceful expression.

After smiling to each other, they were back to the earlier position, but Changmin shifted his body a little to a more comfortable position inside Yunho’s protective arms. They intertwined their fingers together.

“And then, what did you do after that? Did you continue to live there along the years?” Yunho asked.

Changmin nods. “That’s the only place that I had, Yunho, and I thought I had to treasure that house though, as the only thing remained from my family. The first week, I’ve been living there, I was wandering around the town, with no destination, only to enjoy the view, and then I began to think that I needed to find a part time job to support myself.”

“You overworked yourself again, didn’t you? I guess it is a part of you that won’t change forever.”

Changmin let out an amused laugh, voice still a bit raspy from his cry. “Is it a bad thing to be so hard working?”

“No…” Yunho shrugged, “But sometime you didn’t think about yourself, about your health… That’s why I’m always worried about you. I was afraid you would kill yourself with the amount of jobs you might do. And I know you… you would be so caught up with work until you never had the time to rest.”

Changmin chuckled, “Your overly concern will never going to change, won’t it?”

“Of course not, you mean everything to me… and I don’t want anything bad happen to you.”

Changmin felt Yunho’s hand squeezing his lightly, trying his best to show Changmin how much he cared for the younger man.

“I know…” Changmin said softly and squeezed Yunho’s hand back. “But well… Of course it was hard for me, for living by myself with no one to lean on and to talk to, but I tried my best… I tried not to think too much about my loneliness and simply enjoying my job as a librarian for a local school and a shop keeper for CD store.” Changmin stopped for a while, but then he spoke again, this time with a voice little bit weaker than earlier, “But there were also times, when I felt that the house was too big and too empty for me and I missed you and this apartment. After that I would restraint myself for grabbing my phone you gave to me and dialing your number.”

“Oh Minnie…” Yunho looked at him with a sad expression. He knew how Changmin felt and how hard it was to hold back his feelings, because Yunho felt the same. He got so frustrated when Changmin didn’t pick up his phone while he was longing and his heart was overloaded and ready to blow up. Even though their cases were different, but the feeling was equal.

“Yes… My life there wasn’t any different with the time before we’ve met, but there was a difference this time: I was doing it for myself, for my own future and I was never doing it with a heavy feeling.” Changmin smiled satisfied. “After that, I was thinking: I needed to find my dream and figure out what I wanted to become in the future. I considered a few alternatives: taking a computer course, study literature, or art school. But I never considered applying to a med school.”

Yunho smiled to this. “So, what made you change your mind then?” He pressed his cheek to Changmin’s warm one, leaning more and more closer until their bodies really pressed to each other.

Changmin was in utter relaxation in Yunho’s grip around his body, and affectionately nuzzled Yunho’s cheek with his. “If I say it was because of you, what will you say?” He teased.

Yunho felt his face burn due to Changmin’s statement. “Cheesy.”

Changmin giggled. “That’s it?”

“Be serious, will you, Min?” Yunho cleared his throat nervously.

Changmin laughed again, but then he smiled. “I’m serious, Yunho-yah… I actually didn’t know how that was coming to me… but then I was thinking about you. I was thinking about the first time we’ve met and you forced me to go to the hospital with you…” Yunho nodded, feeling so warm with the memories sliding into his brain. “... and you treated me so kindly that night despite of the fact that you were scolding me for being too stubborn.” Changmin chuckled over the remembrance. “And honestly, I was going to keep this to myself forever that I was so touched by your concern for my problem that night, but then again, I need you to know that I was so grateful that we’ve met back then.”

Yunho kissed Changmin’s bare shoulder.

“After I started to know you, I saw you from a different point of view. You’re so gentle and kind hearted. You’re the most dedicated person I’ve ever known, Yunho. Even though the job was tiresome, you never complained. Just like I’ve told you before, you’re the best doctor I’ve ever met, not only because of your ability, but also for your earnest heart and passionate determination to save your patient. That’s one reason of why I fell in love with you in the first place.”

Yunho blushed again at Changmin’s confession. He never heard of this coming from Changmin’s mouth, and this was something new and it felt surprisingly good, making his heart swell with pride as well.

The smile on Changmin’s face didn’t fade away. Even though he can’t see Yunho’s expression, but he can feel his smile and stupidly wonderful grin smearing upon his lover’s face. He continued, “Also that was what influenced and convinced me to take the medical education, because, simply, I don’t want to lose to you.”

“Yah! What kind of reason is that?” Yunho protested. He wanted to conceal his agitated expression, but the grin that tugged in the corner of his mouth was betraying his intention.

Changmin laughed. “It was enough motivation for me though. I thought it would be really wonderful if I can surpass your ability someday, Yunho, and I’m sure I’ll be a better doctor than you.”

“Like you can really do that.” Yunho smirked. “Keep dreaming, Shim Changmin-sshi, because I’m not going to let you surpass my ability.” He claimed proudly.

“And that’s how you called yourself older than me? You’re so childish, Yunho-yah.” Changmin teased.

“Yah! Who’s childish?” Yunho replied again, and Changmin’s mouth elicited a wonderful laughter which was like music to his ears. It had been so long since Yunho heard this kind of laughter made by Changmin. “So…” Yunho held Changmin’s body with his arms very tight, until Changmin couldn’t move so freely in his embrace. “You’re not going to disappear from my sight anymore, are you?” Yunho said. It wasn’t a question. It looked more like a demand and reassurance for him self

“As long as you don’t want me to. But well, I am planning to bug your life for a little bit longer anyway.” Changmin answered with a soft voice, but his voice was fully sure about it.

“Good… Because I’m not going to let you leave either, and I’m going to keep you here with me, and I don’t care if I have to force you to stay.”

“Hmm…” Changmin mumbled, utterly relaxing his muscles inside the comfort of Yunho’s warm embrace.

“Promise me, one thing Changmin-ah.”

“Hmm?”

“Next time if you’re going to leave me again, don’t make me promise to not find you, because I’m afraid that I won’t be able to keep my promise and you know that I hate to break any promise I’ve made.”

Changmin kept silence for a while, but then the smile that curved the corner of his mouth was going wider and wider as he said, “I promise.” He then closed his eyes, feeling so complete and perfect. He was in an utter happiness to enjoy every minute and every second he had with Yunho.

He had no more worries inside. His mind was at ease and relieved at the thought that he was finally home, within Yunho’s arms where he belonged. And as he drifted slowly away to the land of the beautiful dream with Yunho’s love warming his heart, he used his final strength to utter words that he wanted to say so badly to the older man. “I love you, Yunho.”

Yunho turned his head to look at Changmin’s face as he heard the words coming from Changmin’s mouth. The words were faint, but it was really clear as if they have been screamed into his ear, and Yunho was more than amused, content, and so amazed by the sight of his lover silently falling asleep in his arms. He didn’t know how many times had he been smiling so brightly that night only for being able to be with Changmin. He immediately grabbed the pillow and settled Changmin’s head onto it. He watched Changmin shifting in a more comfortable position as he nuzzled closer to Yunho’s body.

He leans down to plant a light kiss to Changmin’s mouth before he tugs the sheet around their body. After that, he lay down beside Changmin, and moved Changmin’s body closer to him. He thinks, no matter what happens, Changmin is back into his arms, and Yunho will make sure that from now on, he won’t let go of Changmin anymore. Everything that he didn’t manage to say to the younger man tonight can wait for tomorrow, because he was really sure that he will have forever to tell Changmin about everything.

“Sweet dream, Changmin-ah.” He said before closing his eyes as well, joining the younger man into the slumber and drifting so peacefully inside their dream.

-----------------------------------------

Yunho walked along the corridor of the hospital with a smile on his face. Two years had passed since Changmin returned into his arms and the word happy was an understatement to portray how he felt towards his relationship with Changmin lately, because it was really perfect and there was nothing he could compare to the greatness of the feeling that was blooming beautifully inside his heart now. Today was their 7th anniversary of being in a relationship and Yunho was planning to take Changmin to a candle light dinner later after they left the hospital.

He walked towards Changmin’s office and his grin was going wider when he was about to reach Changmin’s office. Without hesitation and without knocking, he entered the room and suddenly he was stroked by surprise when he found Changmin and Kim Jaejoong standing rather close in front of Changmin’s desk. They looked intimate, Jaejoong having his arm around Changmin’s shoulders as they seemed to discuss so seriously about some documents, until they noticed Yunho’s presence.

Yunho’s eyes grew dark in jealousy, and he cleared his throat, with the intention of catching their attention.

He did it. Changmin and Jaejoong immediately looked up from the document to find Yunho stood in front of them with arms folded in front of his chest.

“Oh, Yunho, you’re done already?” Changmin asked smiling so bright that it blinded him.

He answered with a cold tone, jealousy clearly pictured in his orbs.

He saw Jaejoong casually withdrawing his arms from Changmin’s shoulders. “Evening, Jung.” He greeted flatly.

“Evening, Kim.” Yunho replied, unwilling to back up as he walked closer to Changmin. Actually, they had agreed to keep their relationship hidden from the people in the hospital because they didn’t want to create some trouble that could threaten their carriers as a doctor, and only Yoochun and Jaejoong knew about this. Why Jaejoong? Of course, because he had been obviously trying to hit on Changmin since Changmin’s arrival two years ago, and Yunho had to make sure that Jaejoong will keep his ass away from his lover.

“Changmin, since your dear lover is here, I guess I’ll take my leave because I don’t want to have problems dealing with his jealousy. See you tomorrow, okay?” Jaejoong said, a mocking look landed on Yunho, but still managed to make a sweet smile towards Changmin, and winked.

Yunho snorted at him, not bothering to hide his obvious jealousy.

“See you, tomorrow. Thank you for today, Jaejoong-hyung.” Changmin replied and Jaejoong waved before disappearing behind the door.

Changmin intended to walk behind his desk but suddenly Yunho stopped him. Yunho grabbed his waist and trapped Changmin’s body with his hands. Changmin put his hand on Yunho’s chest to attenuate the shock.

“Yunho~” Changmin whined in protest.

“What were you doing here alone with him?”

Changmin chuckled at his behavior. “Stop being overly jealous, we were just discussing about some medical reports.”

“With his hand over your shoulders?”

Changmin rolled his eyes. “Aissh… You’re really such a pabo sometime.”

“I don’t care.” Yunho said sternly, eyes still dark with jealousy. “I want you to stay away from him.”

“Yunho, how will I do that? We are working together!”

“But…”

“Stop being jealous over him, will you? He wasn’t really trying to hit on me. He did that in fact because he loved to see your possessiveness towards me, can’t you see that?” Changmin informed and Yunho blushed suddenly at the information. He was tricked all the time by that devil in the mask of beauty and now that Kim Jaejoong must be laughing his ass off behind Yunho’s back.

“He did?”

“Yes, you pabo, crazily in love old man!” Changmin tweaked his nose.

“Who’s pabo crazily in love old man?” Yunho pouted. “Well, the crazily in love part is true, but I’m not an old man.” He turned redder and Changmin laughed over his cute reaction.

“I don’t know that you could be such a cutie, Yunho.” Changmin exclaimed happily, pressing their mouths in a gentle kiss.

Yunho smiled at him when they broke apart and he gave Changmin a light kiss once again.

Yunho then bit his lip. There was something that he wanted to tell Changmin since a week ago, but he was afraid to see what reaction he will get from Changmin. He wanted to wait until after dinner tonight, but suddenly he got so impatient and the words needed to be out from his mind.

“Yunho, what’s wrong?” Changmin asked concernedly, looking to the older man’s dazing face.

“Um…” Yunho cleared his throat. “Min… I-You… Do-do you want to-to spend your life forever, with me?”

Changmin blinked, looking a little bit taken aback by Yunho’s question. “What are you talking about, Yunho?”

Yunho took a deep breath. Changmin was usually so smart, but why did he have to be so clueless at a time like this? Yunho silently whined. “Uhm… You know? To live with me… forever… just like… like a family… Just the two of us?”

Damn! Why can’t the words come out from his lips properly? He mentally cursed himself for his inability to speak coherently.

Yunho saw Changmin’s eyes widen, brows knitted together, but he didn’t say anything for a full five minutes until he gave Yunho a knowing smile and smirked. “Are you proposing to me?”

“How’s it going then?” He asked dumbly.

Changmin shook his head. “Seriously, Yunho, in my office? You’re such a romantic person. Why can’t it wait until we’re out of here first?”

He groaned in agitation more to himself. “But I’m serious, Min!! Actually I was going to tell you after our dinner tonight, but seeing you with Jaejoong earlier got me so impatient. I thought that I need to make a move sooner before anyone takes you away.”

Changmin eyed him with an unreadable look. “Do you doubt me?”

“No-no… I don’t mean it like that. I just…”

Suddenly Yunho startled with Changmin laughed that brightly lightening his face. He tangled his hands around Yunho’s neck. “What can you offer me then?”

Yunho smiled to this while he wrapped his hands around Changmin’s waist, pulling Changmin closer to him. “Everything.”

“Really?”

Yunho nodded furiously, glimmers of hope in his eyes.

“But what about your father? Is he going to agree with this? The rest of your family… How will they react?” Changmin asked concernedly.

“Nah… I don’t care about him. This is my life, Min. He has no right to decide what I want to do in my life. Besides, my mother and my sister will always support me.”

“But Yunho… He’s your father, and you’re his heir. What about the hospital? Who’s going to take over the hospital if it isn’t you?”

Yunho smiles assuredly. “I am really happy that you care about my relationship with my father, but just like what I told you, I am the only one who can decide what I want to do with my life, and I decided that I want to spend the rest of my life with you.” He kissed Changmin’s nose. “After all, I was never planning to take over the hospital, and I’m sure that my father had plenty of more qualified staff to take over the hospital.”

“Are you sure about that?”

He nodded. “A hundred percent. We could just go to some place , more peaceful than here, and we could start our own clinic… Just the two of us… And I’m sure that we will be a great pair. Two gorgeous doctors…“ Yunho said dreamily. He could vividly imagine how perfect it will be living with Changmin, just the two of them, and they would be busy to examine their patients in their own clinic. God, that was so wonderful! He turned to Changmin after snapping back to the reality. “How does that sound?”

Changmin’s smile got wider and wider each second passing by, exposing his great charm in his mismatched eyes as he said, “That sounds really… promising.”

“So…” Confidently Yunho tightened his grip around Changmin before he said. “Will you marry me and be mine forever?”

As answer, Yunho got a hard kiss pressed against his lips. They kissed like there was no tomorrow, not deepening, but so full of love and passion, as if it was a first seal to their promise for their life in the future.

When they gasped for air after such an intense kiss, Changmin pressed their forehead together and grinned.

He whispered, “As long as you will be mine as well, then the answer is yes…”

Suddenly the world seems such a perfect place…
Come what may...
Come what may…
I will love you… until my dying day…
