House...and GOD!!
So while Pat REALLY liked the house, I was only okay with it. Still don't know why. It was big, three bedrooms, one really tiny bathroom, NICE downstairs, fireplace. It was cool, but.....eh. I just don't know why I'm not as excited as Pat over it. We are going to look at some more here after Thanksgiving.
The best thing happened in church today.
The backstory: Our church has been struggling financially ever since we got there (and probably a lot before). Everything is down to the bare minimum and they have stopped supporting missions because they just don't have the money to keep the church running and do that. Despite empassioned pleas over the summer, nothing much had changed in giving. Today, though, was the end of 40 days of community and our Thanksgiving Sunday. They would take up the regular offering, and then take up a special Thanksgiving offering. The challenge was to give at least one dollar for every year you had been alive. There was 24 hours of prayer at the church before service today and the offering ended up being HUGE!! Altogether with both offerings, I think $37,000 was given! Whoa! Now that's God! While this won't be the end of financial struggles for my church, at least we are going to be able to make it through the end of the year ( hopefully beyond too). That was a lot more money than I was even thinking our church could raise. Sweet!
After this we had Thanksgiving dinner at church. Almost everyone stayed and they had four huge tables of food! Our small group sat together and it was fun :)
And now it's time for King's Quest...
