Because then I won't concentrate on my english -__- And I want it done and out of the way before I go out to enjoy anything. I'm being responsible! Isn't that a novel thing?
I've actually done At Last in the past, so I can't use the same song. I need to re-audition every year, so I need to come up with fresh stuff everytime to show improvement ;) And it's not just jazz, jazz itself has this whole feeling, this whole emotional grind that just takes you from the everyday, you know? Nothing beats listening to vinyls of the jazz masters. But yea, regardless, I'm thinking like Bye Bye Blackbird, or Lullaby of Birdland(done both in the past, haha!) and thanks for the suggestion!
Wow! Best of luck (or "break a vocal chord"?) on the audition. I know how challenging and rewarding it can be, so I hope you get your heart's desire there. :) I'm glad school's smoothed out a bit for you. It's always hard - the first few weeks. And no being responsible! You're supposed to be here for our reading and teasing pleasure or hadn't you figured that out yet? :) I'm very proud of you being so responsible, though. If only I could do the same... :) Take care, good luck with school and keep us posted on auditions, et al!
Auditions have to be the most nerve-racking thing in the world. The judge will just watch you passively, never looking away, and you get all flustered and... ya, it's pretty intense. But I love singing. I really do. And hey, this is my senior year! I've done vocal every year since entering high school, so suddenly, it's like wow, this is my last time! Gotta nail it!!
And ya, I need to be responsible. I'm scared; university is fast approaching. I'm going to be moving out soon. It's just completely frightening, but also exciting. I'm almost done with my english! Now to get started on my data management homework...

Really? I'm not in Toronto yet, that's next year. But that sounds cool! I love all the jazz club sorta types, it's totally me. Expecially since smoking is banned now, haha, no asthma attacks!
