...that's what I was asking myself too! *g* (I guess it's too much to hope for an explanation, or at least a reference to what happened...) Hmmm, maybe he's not in Atlantis but at the SGC?
Bates! I had wondered if he picked Da Vinci's City Hall over SGA (or, enough to make scheduling a problem or something), so the only good thing when DVCH was cancelled was that Bates could come back.
But where is he? I mean, they could use a bit of steely, growly backbone in the show.
After taking time off to do a little fishing, Carl is heavy into Midway. It’ll be great to finally see the big men spar. It’ll also be nice to have Kavanagh back. Unfortunately, he won’t find his return quite as enjoyable." (Joseph Mallozzi's July 12 blog)
Oh! That doesn't sound too good. But maybe he means not enjoyable in the way that he's fighting off a dozen Wraith/[insert bad guys of choice] and gets a little beat up in the process but comes out just fine whilst simultaneously saving the day.
Then McKay would admit he's equally as smart. And Ronon and Sheppard would apologise for participating in the torture thing and Weir would apologise for being a bitch before suddenly dropping dead of a mysterious and painful illness.
Then Lorne would declare his undying love and they'd all live happily ever after.
I could so write this show. Would you? Just leave Weir alive, because the whole dying makes it impossible for her to learn from her mistakes. And that's my whole thing. :)
Maybe it'll be an AU. Because I can't seriously see Kav staying on Atlantis after the whole attempted torture unless his a)really fraking stubborn or b)a spy. (Don't look at me like that! Maybe Canada has finally decided to takeover the world and their first step is Atlantis...)
Though a part of me wants him to be on a massive committee or something that decides what to do with Atlantis. Just so I can be like, "Ha, bitches! You disliked him for so long and it turns out he is the one who's been saying this whole time, 'Let so-and-so keep hir job.'"
Whatever they do, it'll be awesome just 'cause he's back...so long as they don't kill him.
