It's a boy...er, dog!

Well, we got a new dog.

It was kind of a random thing, as my mother and I had gone to the shelter to update Skye's license, and we decided, hey, let's go look at the homeless dogs for no reason at all (we are a random pair). Saw a little black dog with lopsided ears, about 3 years old. So, long story short, we ended up going back later that day after my sister got out of school, discussed (and begged my dad), then got our money together to see if we could adopt him when he became available that Saturday.

We almost decided not to get him when we went to see him that Friday, as he seemed skittish when they took him out the kennel to socialize (apparently the shelter had found him in their parking lot and had to chase him around before having to come out with a catch pole), and my mom had us drive around to a bunch of other shelters in order to leave our options open, but I finally decided to go ahead and adopt him Saturday night. Skye was alright with him, although she didn't like him sniffing herXD. He also had to be neutered (ouch), so we didn't bring him home until the next Monday night. He seems to be house trained, as he only had a few accidents, so he will most likely be the first house dog we've ever had. I'm afraid he may been abused his last owner(s), as he has a tendency to run and hide if thinks he is in trouble, but other than that, he's a real happy guy and likes to follow everyone around in the house.

Unfortunately for him, he lets you brush him and dress him up as well...and my mother has always wanted to have a small dog that she can do so with. So far, mum has bought him a fluffy light-up Christmas collar, a jogging jacket, and a name tag in the shape of a gold heart. Poor dog:C.

His name is Sammy. Original dog name, I knowXD.

Still kinda groggy from surgery...

Exploring the back yard the next day.

He has lopsided ear, poor guy:B.

Suppose I bore him?

Aaaaand some pictures I took just earlier today:

Stretching like a cat...
