Played some more D&D last night.
Good news.. Nobody died (^o_o)^
Here goes: we were on our way to the tower to check if Edgar's story checked out. We were with four; me, Edgar, mr. chieftain (Mohama?) and mr. expendable barbarian.
We saw the ghost chick (who didn't speak a word), not sure what the heck we did there, actually (we asked Edgar some questions, I guess) >_>
Anyway, on the way back, we spotted another ambush much like the first one that happened after we (just Edgar now, actually) met that rider.
We split up (Edgar + me and
Capt'n Chieftain +
ensign barbarian). There were two at first, one cleric and one warrior, but another warrior showed up in their initiative round, so we had to defeat three of them.
In our surprise round we wounded the first warrior quite badly, but then the second one came out and charged at us, so we had to focus on him while the other one was healed by the cleric, who later also summoned a skeleton.
No matter though, we whooped that ass (don't mention that they nearly handed our asses to us too, I was at 5 hp, Edgar at 2 or 3) and we took the cleric alive for interrogation (woot)!
The rest of the ride back to the village was uneventful, and after we had some word with the village shaman about holy symbols (how the clerics of the tower were of Wee-Jas while Edgar was of Boccob) Edgar was cleared of suspicion.
We got healed up, at some late dinner, then went to sleep.
The next day Edgar used some of his fancy divination mahou to divine the truth from mr Wee-Jas cleric. The info about the tower was very informative (not), but we did find out that there was another location they used for creating undead as well, namely a shrine to Obad-hai near the native woods of my character (coincidentally, also the direction Randar was supposed to go to, hurhur). So, after some prepping, we headed off in that direction.
At the first stop we made, I made a kickass survival check and found a perfect place to make camp, and as we were eating, we saw riders + cart racing down the road from the direction we were heading towards - more tower cronies (too many for us to defeat, or else they'd have an arrow up theirs, naturally)
After they passed by, we finished with our meal and made ready for the night.
Several days later, we reached the woods (I also got us some venison on a stealthy hunting expedition.. ok, I just shot a deer, that's it). I was rather disorientated, since I expected to be able to see the shrine by now, so I figured I'd go into the woods to try to get a better bearing, which seemed to work alright enough, since I discovered we veered off-course to the west. So, heading east along the border of the woods, we reached the shrine (which was just outside it). We kicked some hob-goblin behind while we were heading there as well, since the southern side of the woods were infested with them (the reason I was getting help or some such from the barbarians).
I just remembered I forgot to add my favored enemy bonus to my rolls... Ah well, they be not alive.
Edgar's player was pretty much sleeping again by this point, so we figured we'd halt here and continue next time.
It's funny how my vocabulary changes when I haven't had any sleep (or, actually, not so much my vocabulary.. more the manner in which I write things) - couldn't sleep... AGAIN. That guy seriously needs to get curtains or something, gah!
Oh yeah, got some new CD's - completed my Foo Fighters studio album collection (thinking of getting that live album as well), got the 30 Seconds From Mars albums, since I liked their music well enough *shrug*, and finally got the Hullabaloo thing from Muse. I have to say, some of those b-sides are friggin strange xD
Looking forward to the new Foo Fighters album come late september (~o_o)~
I suppose I should get some sleep... or not, and wait till evening.. Hmm... Hmm..
