Verdict, stage one.

Los Angeles, 2017.

She sat, foot swinging, eyes narrowed at the wall opposite. She was waiting. Waiting for a verdict, waiting for the decision to come on her report. She'd made a download of all pertinant information in Houston, and now that, along with her thoughts on the entire operation, were being discussed by the higher-ups.

The higher-ups being Kitt, Bonnie, the law enforcement liason (who, today, was Mitchell Barns), and lawyers from both FLAG and KI.

The facts were simple. She was, technically - and she'd known this from the start - guilty of breaking and entering. That wasn't much compared to the fact that, instead of confronting her with a security team, she'd been immediately confronted by five androids with guns blazing. Her sensors had read them clearly as androids.

And, unfortunately, that put her in a very awkward place. They'd have to send in human operatives, which Kavio was very, very against. They were even less protected than she was, and with her welcome, she didn't doubt any operative from Knight Industries would get a foul greeting.

All of that was running through her mind while she sat there, impatient, waiting, feeling like the proverbial child on the bench outside the principal's office. This was a decision she had to wait around for. This would decide if she went back out on the case, or if she went into hiding. She was too recognizable as she was, and they already knew what the air scrubbers did to her nanos, so there wasn't even the question of visual disguise - for all that wouldn't hide her from another android.

So she waited. And in something very, very like a nervous tick, she kicked her foot absently where her legs were crossed.

Well, she made herself think - at least she might get some vacation.
