Comment(s): Odd pairing I know, but I thought it was cute and had never seen it before, so I gave it a shot. XD The name of a decent title eluded me, so I apologize for the crapiness of the one I'm using.
Summary: "So, whenever you feel lonely on the tour, you can look at it and think of me."
Hiroto was certain that no one had ever given him such a meaningful gift as that, that the drummer from GazettE had. His eyes were glued to piece of jewelry hanging from around his left wrist, a wonderful smile playing on his lips. It wasn't particularly flashy or made of any certain type of gold or silver that made it so lovely in Hiroto's eyes. No, it was the fact that Kai had taken the time out of his busy schedule to physically make it for the young guitarist. Every piece had been bought and put together especially for Hiroto. It was completely and wholly unique, and directly from Kai's heart. That was why Hiroto loved it so.
Its making had been born from how upset Hiroto had been about going on tour. It was the first time he would be parted from his lover for more than a day, and it was obvious he didn't look forward to it. Therefore, aside from holding to Hiroto and cuddling and kissing him to make him feel better, Kai had secretly went about putting together the bracelet for his lover.
"So, whenever you feel lonely on the tour, you can look at it and think of me." Kai had said with a light blush tingeing his cheeks and a dimpled half-smile on his lips. "You'll always have me with you. That bracelet is just there to remind you." Of course Hiroto had been elated, and had hugged the older man with all the force he could without hurting him, tears brimming in his eyes that Kai had quickly kissed away once their hug had been over.
Staring at the piece of jewelry, Hiroto tried memorizing every detail as they rode in the van from their latest performance, to their tour final. He looked at all the different kinds of beads and charms--all of Hiroto's favorite colors, and small reminders of both things he enjoyed doing as well as things that reminded him of Kai. Perhaps his favorite part, though, was the little golden-colored charm that had a guitar on it as well as two drumsticks. It was all of the same piece and had probably taken quite awhile for Kai to come across, so Hiroto completely adored it.
"I don't think you've taken your eyes off that thing since we started this tour." Shou joked from his seat beside the younger man. "Is it really that special?"
The response he got from Hiroto was almost instantaneous. "Of course it is! Kai-kun made it for me himself!" He seemed almost offended that Shou would think otherwise. However, the vocalist just found Hiroto's reply rather humorous and put his hands up in playful defense from any wrath he might get aimed at him.
Pouting, Hiroto turned his gaze back on the bracelet, fingering the charms lovingly. He adored the small show of affection more than anything else, and there was no mistaking it. Like Shou, the other bandmembers had noticed how attached he was to it. Never once did he take it off. They were almost sure he didn't even take it off in the shower--which he did, but they had no clue of it.
Cradling the wrist that held the bracelet close to his stomach, Hiroto watched out the window at the change of scenery, though his mind was elsewhere. He couldn't help but wonder what Kai was up to at that moment in time. Was he thinking of the young guitarist? Was he working? Hiroto wanted to know, but he didn't want to call and bother his beloved drummer. He'd already called him enough already, he was sure.
There hadn't been a day that had passed that he hadn't called to check up on Kai, not that the drummer had cared. He was just as anxious as Hiroto was to check up on things. Not even when Hiroto had called him near to midnight while he had been sleeping--after he had worked all day and was to work all day the next day--had he cared. Kai had just wiped away all traces of sleep and had talked for at least an hour with a Hiroto that was on high from the concert he had just performed.
Hiroto smiled at the thought, turning his gaze down at the bracelet once more. How he wanted to be wrapped in Kai's arms right now instead of in a van miles away. The longing must have been obvious on his face because in the next instant he heard Tora speaking to him.
"Just one more performance, Juliet." Tora chuckled, ruffling Hiroto's hair softly. This was the first relationship Hiroto had been in seriously since he had been in the band, so they were all happy for him. Even more so because he was with Kai, one of the most gentle and understanding people the band had ever known. "You'll get to see your Romeo when we return back home tomorrow."
Once more Hiroto pouted, but then it faded into a wistful smile. "I'm glad." He replied, glancing at Tora before settling himself against the framing of the window. They had, had to get up early this morning and he was sleepy, so rather than linger on what would happen tomorrow, he decided he'd catch some sleep. A light nap would do him good, and give him energy for the final tonight.

The whole live house was pumped up, fans screaming out their want for the band to come onstage. It was visibly making the members of the band antsy as they waited backstage, their hands pressed against one another in a show of togetherness and friendship. They needed to wait for the signal that a camera was on them because this being the final it would become a DVD, and naturally this was almost killing them to keep that energy and pre-performance nerves inside. At least, it was with Hiroto.
The young guitarist was rocking on the balls of his feet, eyes fixated on their hands as he went through some of the tougher riffs in his mind, making sure he knew them before they went out there. He didn't have stage fright as he used to have in their earlier days, but even with experienced performers things can go wrong, and Hiroto knew that.
"Camera in three...two...one!" And Hiroto stopped moving, focusing on appearing as he normally did as he listened to Shou talk to them. Once Shou was finished and they broke apart their hands in the typical fashion, one by one they filtered out onstage and started the live.
The fans were as responsive as ever, moving in sync on certain parts of songs and singing along when Shou instructed it of them. It was truly a night to remember as every live typically was. Hiroto raced from one end of the stage to the other, giving fanservice to the other members occasionally and playing around with them many more times than usual as if he thought doing so would make the live go by any faster. Not that he wasn't enjoying himself, but after being away from his lover for so long, he tended to miss him more than anything.
By the encore the entire band was pouring sweat, yet smiling as if it was the beginning of the live rather than the end. They played right along as always up until the final song. Panting, Hiroto watched as Shou walked over to him, telling him to introduce the final song with an arm over his shoulders and placing the microphone at his lips. The panting turned into a grin and Hiroto shouted the song into the microphone, triggering Shou to move away from him and the song to start. Taking his place as he always did, Hiroto started right along with the rest of the band.
It went smoothly for the first half of the song, them all playing around and doing stunts as they always did. However, one particular move had Hiroto regretting the action altogether. Jumping high in the air from one of the amps, Hiroto moved his guitar in a completely different direction than he had meant to. It caught the edge of his bracelet without him knowing, so when he landed and jerked his guitar in the opposite direction it tore the string and sent beads flying onstage. Instantly his eyes widened and he was torn between gathering the beads and continuing to play.
Knowing he could always take the heat from their manager later, Hiroto ran and started picking up some of the beads, ignoring the stares of Shou and the others as he did so. Careful to pick up some of the ones that meant more to him than others--especially his favorite charm--Hiroto slid them into his pocket before picking up where he left off and finishing the song with the rest of the band. Luckily his actions hadn't yielded much of a response from the crowd, so finishing up wasn't much of a hassle; Including the encore MC and traditional jump that all bands did.
Hiroto kept his facade up onstage for as long as he could before he had to rush offstage before the others, eyes just brimming with unshed tears. He rushed past the staff that tried to hand him a towel and a bottle of water; ignored the stares he was cast from their manager who was displeased with him. His only intent was to hide away from everyone, which he did within seconds.
He practically crashed into the restroom, locking the door behind him before sliding to the floor, his back to the door. Shakily he reached into his pocket and pulled out the beads, holding them in his hand as he stared at them. There were a few moments in which all he could do was stare, his shoulders shaking with held-back emotion. Then came the tears. One by one the hot, salty droplets trickled from his eyes and ran down the heated flesh of his face. Some trailed down his nose and dripped onto the hand that was holding the beads. Others just ran down his chin and neck, wetting the collar of his tour shirt that he had wore for the encore.
The tears were endless once they had begun, turning his eyes red and puffy, and clogging his nose unpleasantly. Not that he paid it any mind. "All his work...broken and...and...oh god he's going to hate me..." Hiroto cried, clutching the beads desperately as he closed his eyes. Burying his face in his arms--still holding the beads for dear life--Hiroto cried out his sorrow, ignoring the knock on the door by none other than one of his bandmembers. They called to him, trying to coax him out, but he wouldn't budge. Eventually they were forced to give up and just go about their own business of getting water and resting, while Hiroto remained miserable, coiled into himself inside the dirty restroom as he sobbed out his hatred for his own stupidity.
It took near to an hour before someone finally unlocked the door and pushed inside to get to Hiroto. It was Tora; the only one strong enough after a live to push Hiroto's body as well as the door. He sighed when he saw Hiroto look up at him with teary eyes, though not out of exasperation. The taller man could understand why Hiroto was feeling so upset.
"Come on, Pon." Tora spoke up softly, reaching down a hand for Hiroto to take hold of. To his luck, Hiroto had cried himself out and simply nodded, grasping Tora's hand and pulling himself up so he could go out and get some water. Nevertheless his hand still held to those beads, while his cheeks were drenched with saddened tears.

Kai had been sure that when the band arrived back to the PSC building that he would be met with an ecstatic Hiroto coming off that van. He himself was anxious as he sat in alice nine's practice room, awaiting their return. His band wasn't scheduled for practice today, but he had came in anyway just to make sure he met up with his lover the moment he entered the place. His right leg bounced in anticipation, a smile playing on his lips so delicately as he thought of hugging Hiroto to him, kissing him softly and cuddling before they would head home to do more of the same.
The young drummer almost jumped out of his seat when the door finally pulled open and Nao was the first to enter the room. He greeted Kai with a tired smile, evidence they had been chased out of their hotel rooms much too early for their liking.
Kai greeted him back with a chuckle and a wave of his hand, before he stood and watched the other members enter the room. Shou was next, then Saga, Tora, and Hiroto last, as surprised as Kai was of such a thing. However, before he could go over and embrace his lover, Tora walked over to him and clapped him on the shoulder, murmuring to him that Hiroto was upset and that he really needed some cheering up.
Perplexed, Kai could only nod at Tora, watching the taller man walk off before he headed over to his lover. Hiroto's gaze was drawn to the floor, his shoulders slumped as he carried his messenger bag over one shoulder and apparently held onto something with his other hand. Either that or he was just clenching his fist.
Smiling, Kai simply drew his smaller lover into a hug, wanting nothing more than to feel Hiroto's warmth against his own again. Although, much to immense shock, Hiroto drew away from him, startled as his gaze shot up and stared at Kai. It was a pained stare, one that shone of guilt and of fear. And before Kai knew it, Hiroto was dropping his shoulder bag and tears were falling from his eyes, sliding down his cheeks sadly.
"Hiroto-kun...?" Kai inquired softly, reaching out to his lover again, wanting nothing more than to dry his tears. "What's wrong?"
Luckily, this time, Hiroto allowed himself to be hugged when Kai extended his strong arms and wrapped Hiroto in them like a safety blanket. The smaller man burrowed his face into Kai's shoulder, wetting his shirt with tears. The other bandmembers watched as all Kai could think to do was to hold Hiroto, let him cry out whatever was bothering him. "Shh..." He coaxed gently, placing a soft kiss to the side of Hiroto's temple, trying to calm him with affection, but that only seemed to spur more tears.
"I'm sorry..." Hiroto choked out, more tears spilling from his beautiful brown eyes. "I'm so sorry, Kai-kun..."
"For what, Hiroto?" Kai asked on a breathless whisper, wondering what had happened. For a moment he thought Hiroto might be apologizing for not calling him the past night--which Kai had truly shrugged off as the younger man being too tired to talk--but instead of jump to conclusions or assumptions, he wanted to get to the bottom of this emotion. "What's bothering you, sweetheart?"
"I...I..." Hiroto tried, but failed at expressing what he wanted to say, so instead, he pulled from Kai's embrace and shakily extended the clenched hand. Ever so slowly he unclenched the fist to show Kai the beads from the bracelet he had made for the young guitarist. Kai's eyes widened as he looked at them, alarming Hiroto almost immediately. "I'm sorry, Kai-kun! I didn't...I didn't mean too! I promise!" He cried out, once again turning his hand into a fist to hold onto the beads in case his lover decided to try and take them away in anger. "Don't hate me! Please...I...I...I'm s-sorry..."
Kai couldn't stand seeing his lover in such a state, so he almost instantly embraced him again, hugging him close and trying to hush him with sweet kisses and affection. "It's alright, Hiroto. It's alright, I promise." He murmured over and over again, trying to get Hiroto to listen to him and actually believe him. It was a hard task, though, as Hiroto took quite awhile to quit apologizing. And when he did, he clutched onto Kai like a leech, trying to calm his ragged emotions that had evidently been pent up. Kai couldn't even bring himself to ask what had happened lest this start up again.
"Do you forgive me?" Hiroto asked softly, his voice hoarse from crying as he detached himself from Kai and looked up into his lover's gaze.
The drummer gave a warm, comforting smile in return and nodded, taking the tail end of his shirt to wipe away all traces of tears from Hiroto's cheeks. Then he bent forward and kissed Hiroto's eyes, effectively taking away the tears in them as Hiroto was forced to sniffle and smile in response. "I would never be mad over such a thing, Hiroto-kun." Kai murmured when he was finished, staring into his lover's eyes. "I'll just make you another one, okay?" There was a smile on his lips that melted Hiroto's heart, and as such he nodded.
The rest of the band watched with happiness as Kai kissed Hiroto's lips softly, calming Hiroto's turbulent emotions even more. "I love you, Kai." Hiroto murmured then, hugging Kai even with the beads still in hand. Kai just replied with those same three words and burrowed his face into Hiroto's hair, nuzzling him softly, glad to have him in his arms again.
Their hugging went on for a short while longer before Kai tried pulling away softly, wanting to pick up Hiroto's bag and help carry it out to his car since Hiroto didn't have his at the studio. However, Hiroto wouldn't let go of him, showing Kai just how much the drummer had been missed while Hiroto had been on tour.
"Sweetheart, I'm not going anywhere." Kai chuckled, amused as he tried again to get out of the hold. Hiroto was stubborn, though, and held on tight, not replying in words to Kai's statement. When Kai walked a couple steps, Hiroto followed--a little awkwardly, but he followed nevertheless with his arms tightly wound around Kai's midsection. "Pon..." It was said in an affectionate way before Kai surprised the smaller man by tickling his sides, causing Hiroto to pull away and start laughing. It was the sweetest music to Kai's ears.
"We'll go over to my place and you can stay there for a couple days, alright?" Kai spoke up, reaching for Hiroto's bag and hoisting it over his shoulder. "That way I can make you a new bracelet, but this time with your input." Hiroto's features instantly brightened up and he nodded, dutifully following as Kai headed to the door, only pausing to wave at his bandmates before the two of them disappeared outside and walked to the drummer's car.
Smiling, Kai opened the passenger's side for Hiroto before tossing the bag into the back with gentle care. "I missed you so much, Hiroto-kun." He murmured as he passed Hiroto on his way to the driver's side, pressing a soft kiss to the guitarist's forehead as he did so. This made Hiroto reach for Kai's arm, holding it to stop his lover in his walk. Perplexed, Kai stopped, curious as Hiroto put the beads back into his pocket.
"I missed you too." Hiroto mumbled, once again wrapping his arms around Kai's thin frame as he pushed him into the side of the car, Kai's back colliding softly with the vehicle. The smile on Kai's lips remained as he held Hiroto in return, allowing the shorter man to burrow his face into Kai's chest. "That bracelet helped me a lot, though. I did think of you everytime I saw it or felt it on my wrist. It reminded me how much I'm loved...and how much I love you." The words touched Kai and his smile softened, but he didn't say anything, knowing Hiroto wasn't finished.
"I think...it broke during the final for a reason..." Curious, Kai still remained silent, wondering what his lover was getting at. "It showed me that it's easy to take things for granted....That I can get careless, and that if I do get careless bad things can happen." It didn't surprise Kai that Hiroto could find a deeper meaning in something so seemingly insignificant. His lover was very intuitive and spiritual by nature. "I think it was telling me to cherish you; cherish our love, and never take it for granted, because the moment I do...it'll break just like the bracelet. And I don't want that to happen." His eyes held such loving within their depths when Hiroto pulled away to look up at Kai, that the drummer couldn't help how his own eyes became glassy with unshed tears.
Without a moment's hesitation--even though they were in the parking lot for the world to witness them--Kai bent down slightly and pressed his lips to Hiroto's, claiming them gently and then passionately when Hiroto deepened the kiss. Their tongues danced intimately before the two of them pulled away and just smiled at each other. "You make me love you more and more each day, Hiroto, and just when I think I can't love you anymore, you prove me wrong." Hiroto beamed at the compliment and pecked Kai's lips before pulling his entire body away.
"Now, how about we go to your place and make a new bracelet? Maybe I can make you one too!" Hiroto's excited smile was contagious and Kai instantly found himself wearing one too.
"I'd like that." Kai replied, kissing Hiroto's forehead. "I'd like that very much."
