The Beatles -

“A British bobby George - pensive and stone-faced for a change. Pictures of George smiling are rare indeed!”

“If it isn’t the Old Stone-face again. Come on George - SMILE!”

“No privacy with Ringo Starr and camera around.”

“I guess we’re all pretty buggy about cameras. It’s a really gear feeling to snap a picture of something pretty or interesting and have it come out looking really well.”

“Poor George is all pooped out. Like the rest of us everything he has goes into his performance - and out to the audience.”

“A fraction away from a smile.”

“After a hard day’s work it’s the greatest feeling to loosen your tie and just relax. That’s almost an unknown word to us Beatles.”

“George is really serious about the guitar. He spends his spare time studying the Spanish guitar and his favourite performer is Andres Segovia.”

“George is a perfectionist - especially when it comes to his music. Before each recording session he practices alone for a while to make sure everything sounds just right.”

“There’s our chauffeur sitting with George. A real great guy and in no time at all he was one of us.

“Well who do we have here - John! My goodness, what else can he do? Write, paint, sing, photograph - and now this!”

“All the songs that John and Paul write for us were thought out and strummed on the guitar from the very beginning. I guess the reason for this is that neither of the boys knows how to read or write music.”

“Grumble, grumble… looks like John has a thorn in his side. Come on John - smile!”

“Recording sessions are harrowing times - got to get everything just right. John usually cuts on one mike, while George and Paul share a second and I play to a third.”

“John was trying to play his guitar upright and from the looks of things didn’t do so well.”

“Come on John - straighten up. Oops sorry - you can’t, those low ceilings again.”

“John is a camera-bug too, though he hasn’t as much time to spend on it as I do - with his writing and all. But one thing you can be sure of - wherever we go - so does the camera.”

“C’mon John - strum that ol’ guitar. The equipment we use now is quite a ways from the two second-hand amplifier and three used and broken-down guitars we started with.”

“A pretty girl… Oops - it’s John. Lovely hat you’re wearing, John… V-e-r-y becoming.”

“I snapped this when we were in Florida last year. Doesn’t John look glamorous!”

“Paul models what all the fashionables will be wearing this year. Raccoon collars complete with police caps!”

“Paul looked kind of bored when I snapped this picture of him. It is kind of difficult of him to sit still for long periods of time - he’s such a NUT!”

“Sweet tones of Paul McCartney. Every time Paul sings he puts his whole heart and soul into it. No wonder our records sell so well.”

“Aha a French McCartney. Tres bien, Paul.”

“Eating again! Better watch it Paul - you might get fat!”

“Marlon Brando? No, it’s Paul again - with dark glasses. Can I have your autograph, Paul?”

“The two wildest guys in the lot - Paul and Malcolm Evans, one of our road managers.”

“Hi Paul! Hope we’re not interrupting…”

“Paul has rare combination of talents - exceptional good-looks and exceptional talent.”

“Paul’s a sergeant now. The NUT has taken over.”

“Uh, excuse me, officer, could you tell me where I might find Paul McCartney of the Beatles?”

“Aw, Paul - what’s the matter? Somebody said you weren’t the handsomest Beatle? Well, everybody knows I AM!”

“I knew it would happen one day and it looks like it did. Paul’s finally gone off his head. A real nut!”

“Paul’s moments of silence are rare indeed, but my trustee camera and I managed to snap this one.”

“A lot more work and preparation goes into recording a song than many people realise. Every note and word has to be clear and understandable. It’s hard word - but we love it.”

George and Paul

“Well, if it isn’t the barber shop trio.”

“The McCartney-Lennon combo - our best songwriters and singers!”

“I took this when we were in Paris last year. George dressed as a policeman and I paraded in a Napolean hat. It was really gear!”

“Here’s Brian and Paul. I guess he’s every right to wear a Beatle wig - he’s the fifth Beatle, you know.”

“My, but isn’t this a happy group.”

“This picture was taken when we first appeared on the Ed Sullivan Show last year. Notice George’s happy grin!”

Paul, George, George Martin and Mal at EMI Studios.

“My manager, Brian’s almost hidden by the flowers - bad staging, Ringo! Everywhere we go fans send flowers to the hotel we stay at. They make the room look really nice and we appreciate them.”

“My favourite people - the fans. I wish I could spend more time getting to know them, but from the experiences I’ve had I think they’d rip me to pieces.”
