Hi guys,
@mods: Should this entry violate comm protocols, please delete. I checked the comm profile, but I might be mistaken.
A friend who'd been to the UK gave me a package of "Twinings" teabags I instantly fell in love with (they tasted so good!). The tea was one of the "Voyage" teas of "Twinings" and was called "Brazilian Baia" (see
here and
here). It was a black tea flavored with cocoa, vanilla and coco. A package contained 20 teabags, and was priced around 3.60 GBP.
Unfortunately, only one wholesaler in my country (I live in Germany) imports "Twinings" tea, and said company has a very, very limited selection of "Twinings" products that - unsurprisingly - doesn't contain the aformentioned tea.
The second problem I ran into was that evidently the tea is no longer available under the "Voyage" product line; however, "Twinings" seems to have kept the tea, but now sells it under a different name: "Twinings &: Vanilla & Coconut" (see
here). Twinings.co.uk, while having the tea listed on their site, don't name it on their order form. Which wouldn't help me, either, since apparently only people with an address in the UK can use their online ordering service. :::sigh:::
Many hours of Googling later, I'm not even convinced the "Twinings &" product is still available. Supposedly, the tea is a discounter product in the UK and several other countries and should be found pretty much in any good-sized supermarket.
Should a member of this comm be willing to brave a supermarket's shelves and - should they actually have it - buy several packages for me, I would be forever grateful. Perhaps someone of you lives in the UK and regularly orders off Twinings.co.uk? Anyway, of course I'd pay for the tea as well as s&h - happily. I'd also be willing to do an exchange for German teas (loose or bagged) or other foodstuffs; please ask. Please comment here or
e-mail me for details.
Thank you so much.
