...the world could very well be ending tonight ;)
When criticized by the American Ambassador to Canada about the Conservatives plan to ensure Canadian sovereignty in the Arctic, Harper had this to say:
"The United States defends its sovereignty and the Canadian government will defend our sovereignty," Harper told reporters in Ottawa. "It is the Canadian people we get our mandate from, not the ambassador of the United States." Go Stephen! That will probably be the first and only time I agree with him so I might as well show what little support I have for my Prime Minister-elect. I am tired of the American Ambassador to Canada butting in where he has no business - like in the election when he criticized Martin for criticizing Bush's environmental policy.

In sad news
the Hudson's Bay Company - the oldest company in Canada - has fallen into American hands. Yet another part of our Canadian Heritage over-run by American interests. They will no longer be "Proudly Canadian" :(

Seriously, what the hell is with people committing crimes and fleeing to Canada?!?!?!?! I particularly enjoy the part where CBSA employees walked off the job - and yes, it's legal here. Ok, here's the new rule - all crazy, gun-weilding Americans stay home - shoot people in your own country and leave us in peace - even if you make it to Canada, we have to send you home anyway, so save everyone the trouble...oh and there is a little selfishness in all this - CBSA gets guns - I lose my job :(

Ok this whole post seems kinda Anti-American - sorry to all my American friends, you know I'm not really...it's just these recent developments all have to do with our relationship with our neighbours to the south. C'est la vie!
