Moving

So yesterday was a busy and rather interesting day. We got kicked out of our nice cosy dorms room and had to move all of our shit that's not in storage over to Harkness. I actually ended up moving stuff for like five hours. I helped move one of my friend's stuff to storage in the morning, and then Bryne's friend Hadley and I made three trips to the house that she's living in next summer with all of her stuff. We also stored Bryne's future roommate Emily's FUCKING HUGE fridge in Hadley's house. I didn't realize how big the fridge (which is the largest size allowed in the dorms) really was until we tried to get it into the car. We almost could not squeeze it into the back seat. Then we had to carry it down the very steep stairs into the basement. They had better get rid of that fridge at the end of next year because I am not helping them move it again. When we finally finished moving all of Hadley's stuff, it was time to get our keys and start movign ours. We finished just in time to check out of our rooms. Actually, I should say just in time for me to check out of my room, because the RA who was supposed to check Bryne and Hadley our never showed up. And I was kind of annoyed because they charged me $35 for not flipping my bed back over. I mean, I understand that it's not the was it was when I found it, but I happen to know that the people that are living in my room next year are just going to flip it back over.

So now all of our stuff is in a small room on the third floor of Harkness. Harkness is a rather interesting experience. It really does have a funny smell just like people say. And for some reason no soap in the bathrooms. And communal showers in co-ed bathrooms. I'm sorry, but that's a little too much for me. Bryne and I decided to shower at the gym. Also, my bed is essentially nonfunctional. It has a mattress, but te frame has nothing to support it. Instead, there is a sheet of partical board. Unfortunately, the sheet of particle board is just small enough that slightest jostling cause it to fall off te edge fo the frame. It has happened at least three times already. Luckily, it has not happened while I was sleeping, but if it does, I'm moving the mattress to the floor. The only thing that almost redeeems Harkness is that we discovered that our window leads out to a small rooftop. We quickly figured out how to remove the screen and proceeded to wander on the roof. It's pretty awesome. But I am still glad that we are only living there for a week.
