The Female id vs. PG Movies
I'm trying to formulate a question, and I've come up with two versions of it, both of which aren't quite right. I'm interested in your suggestions, but I'm actually just looking for some answers (to the question I can't figure out how to ask).
What I want to know is halfway between:
1) How does the female id differ from the male id? What wants does it not share with the male id, or how does it prioritize its wants differently?
and
2) How do the goals of the main characters in tween coming-of-age movies differ by the gender of their intended audience?
Mel Gibson's What Women Want does not answer my question, both because it is (I think) focused on adults and because I haven't seen it. (To continue that vein, although I'm not actually looking for a movie, a better answer would be Carrie.)
