Thursday, July 2nd:
I left Alison's room to find her sister Cassy in the den. Another girl, one of Cassy's friends, was spending the night. I sat on the arm of a couch while the three of us talked.
Wire racks 20 feet tall covered the walls of the hobby shop. I browsed quietly, trying to not attract the attention of a nearby clump of regulars. The shop stocked a lot of merchandise for a popular TV show. Alyssa had encouraged me to get a certain version of the show's computer game because it included the sort of fiberoptic camera I've wanted forever.
I left the shop when I couldn't find the game, then I crawled into a small, dark car to hide from an Irish street gang.
Our team infiltrated a secured apartment tower. I didn't know how to get the field generator to disable the security system; the woman on the team talked me through it over the headset: "alpha, theta, epsilon...." We got the field offline, but one squad of enforcers had noticed our van and started sweeping the building.
We needed a distraction to keep them busy while we slipped away, so we made people out of sand, gave them guns, and sent them to get killed by the enforcers.
