This is too much! I can't wait to have a house!
Monday AM, cont'd:
One thing I forgot to mention was that when Al and I picked up Megaron, we saw a fire! I think someone's christmas lights caught up, and there were firetrucks and firemen and they cut through a fence. There was a blue pick-em-up truck parked illegally in front of that fence and I was sort of hoping they'd ram it out of the way with the firetruck, but they didn't. Then we started walking...et cetera to bed.
Also, if I learn one thing this lifetime- just ONE thing- it will be not to mix red wine and marijuana. I swear to God, I wish I could just get it through my thick skull.
I woke up briefly around 10am, Monday, long enough to say good morning (or nod at, rather) Mike, Derick, and new people Christian and Jenny(ie?), and drink a little water. I had a headache, but felt well enough- I don't really get hangovers all that often. This wasn't one of those times. I couldn't keep anything down until almost 4pm. Not water, two animal crackers, or the few sips of coffee I had. In fact, I just remembered that after Al and I walked to Dunkin Donughts, we sat at the corner of Broad and Passyunk for a while, just chillin' in the fresh air. I pointed out two other apartments we'd had. And then I stood up, and immediately puked into a trash can. I don't know exactly what it was that made me so sick, but I hope I don't do it again.
The Mummers parade was canceled and rescheduled for Saturday, which is fine. I don't think I could have survived, really. I was vertical, though not especially social, for maybe an hour or two watching a parade, and then I went back to sleep. When I woke up, I still had a headache, but it was due to lack of caffeine now. Finally, I was able to drink some coffee. At four, we left the city.
On the train, a pretty girl asked me what the pin on my hat said. I told her, "logic need not apply". She was quiet for a few minutes, listening to her iPod, and then turned to me to ask if it had to do with love. "Everything, really." She smiled and waved when we got off at our stop.
We went to visit Andy, who gave me the second season of Lost! Man, that guy!! He gave me a big hug and a cup of coffee, and he, Jim (his roommate), Jay (a boy he had a couple dates with), Al and I sat around and talked for about a half hour-forty five minutes and then we had to get on the road- technically, we were already two or three hours late.
We had another great ride, albeit longer than expected, and got to Rick and Tracy's at about 10:30. Rick and Tracy are my adopted parents. (I adopted them.) They've been around since I was five and are very near and dear to my heart. Rick had a bonfire going when we got there. Just wee, little one, because it had been going since seven or so, when we expected we be there, but still- a bonfire on New Years Day? It's like gardening on Thanksgiving: fantastic!!
Anyway, I'm kind of sick of reminiscing about all this right now, so I think I'll stop. Suffice it to say, I always have a good time at Rick and Tracy's, and I'm glad Allison got to meet them. If you meet me, I'm one thing, and if you come to my parents house and meet them, it explains a lot, and THEN, if you meet Rick and Tracy, it explains still more. I'm a quirky sort of person, but I certainly didn't become this way by chance.
OHMYGOD!! Bellydancing tonight! I'm sosososo excited! Like, I was getting dressing this morning and saw my jingly wrap thing, and literally started jumping up and down.
Also, I have been getting up at like 7am for the last three days to go to yoga with Becka. My body feels great, but I fell asleep at some ridiculous time last night, like 10:30. Again, I would like to take a nap right now, but instead I just got a client (yay!). I think I'll go get some coffee instead.
