so I just saw Elizabethtown and,

i have to say that Orlando Bloom is the most gorgeous man ever.

eveyone didn't agree on their reactions to E-town. Some said it was the worst movie ever (Geordie) or that it was really, really lame (Rachel) but most everyone agreed that OB is extremely HOT. ok, that said i'll admit he isn't a good actor and for most of the movie i was thinking WHAT THE FUCK IS THIS MOVIE ABOUT.... but after watching E-town for 2.25 hours i have to report that i liked it.

E-town is really a movie about life and what we live for. it's very real and almost boringly simple. the humour isn't witty or exciting. and it's so hick that i cringed a few times. but i can see why Cameron Crowe wrote it based on his own experiences.

BTW-Kristin Dunst is the ultimate stalker. [lol, i totally relate, if i met OB on a plane i'd probably act the same way]

OB & KD's "romance" starts with a 6+ hour conversation about nothing, they talk for hours a 45 minutes drive away from each other. It's cute in that grade-school sort of way. their relationship is elusive just like all of OB's relationships. but what we find out in this crazy movie is that life is worth living.

The ordinary things Crowe includes like mix-CDs and road trips and music and connecting with people is really the root of self-discovery. Then he goes on to show how “real people” sometimes live their lives overly-concerned with how people perceive themselves. How “real people” sometimes live to work and are consumed by their jobs. How time sometimes falls short of our expectations. It can slip away when you are busy working/studying/living preoccupied and not realizing that life can end so suddenly. [One of my friends from work just lost his dad to a heart attack last month. I really thought of him during this movie] It’s really quite poignant that OB stays at a hotel where a wedding is taking place. (The wedding lasts the entire time he’s there with wedding festivities and traditional Kentucky fanfare) I think the celebration of life and love really helped him move forward during his stay in Kentucky. And of course KD’s fun/adventurous and annoying/insane personality helped too.

Basically this movie defines success and failure. In this movie OB has a really hard time recovering from utter failure. His entire family sees him as a “success” because of his job. So when he ruins the company he thinks it’s all over-lets just kill ourselves in the most unique way possible…but after a few days in E-town and an exciting memorial [fire] he actually learns his family is his personal success. He is met by people who love him and really do care about him no matter what. Family is what this movie is all about.

Although, you might read this and say-yup E-town big failure, I think it’s worth watching. It’s inspiring.
