this just went out in an e-mail to over 1500 people on the Center for Celtic Studies listserv:

Screening of Michael Collins
Monday, March 12, 2007
6:30pm Presentation, 7:00pm Screening
UWM Union Theatre, 2200 E. Kenwood Boulevard

Part of the Hollywood versus History series, this film focuses on Irish revolutionary Michael Collins, who fought to free Ireland from British rule. Prior to the screening Ms. Cat Murphy of the Center for Celtic Studies and Phi Alpha Theta will present historical contextualization for this film and lead discussion afterwards. Co-sponsored by Phi Alpha Theta (History Honors Society) and the UWM Union Theatre. Says Kenneth Turan of the Los Angeles Times, "Romance, passion and excitement. Neil Jordan's extremely cinematic, beautifully made David Lean-type epic is powerful and provocative."

it's a free event and open to the public, so come watch the bartender/academic contextualize her little celtic heart out!
