hey kiddies, just a friendly reminder to watch yourself at night. my friend and fellow bartender tommy got held up at gunpoint on tuesday night. they pistol-whipped him with a .38 and took his keys, phone, and entire wallet. he's not a tiny guy either (hockey player), and it's the second time he's been robbed in our neighborhood in the last few months. the other time he got jumped from behind by a couple assholes. this time it was two young assholes with a gun. so please, be careful. the last thing i need in life is to have one of my friends shot.
i'm a little, well, a lot geeked out by the whole thing, since it happened half a block from champion's, and i live two blocks from champion's. on top of which i know of several other people who've been mugged and these things are really upsetting to me. meanwhile, i'm getting a mag-lite at the store today. in theory, the light will deter the thieving bastards. either that, or the angry german-irish girl swinging a big metal thingee will present a "don't fuck with me" attitude.
