November's WIRED magazine has two really good article about manga and the evolution of American distributors. Actually, one is about manga in the Japanese modern culture and the  work ethics of copyright laws and settlements between mangakas and dojinshi writers, and the other article was 10 pages in...manga format.

The later really intrigued me because more or less I have EXPERIENCED the evolution of the American manga industry. I did not know that Sailor Moon came out BEFORE DBZ. I remember getting the MIXXzine magazine because of the sailormoon stuff...even though I detested the manga style of Sailor moon. I think I still HAVE the magazine...somewhere in the house...I remember it evolving into Mixx entertainment where it later turn into TOKYOPOP. I believe Cindy was a faithful subscriber to that magazine till it decided to fold. Then Tokyopop decided to sell manga in book form.

They also told about the evolution of formatting manga for the American artist. I would go into much MUCH more detail on it but...I want you to read the article...er...manga.

I have the wired magazine if anyone wants to read. ^_^

Man...everytime I type the word magazine, I had to go back and edit it because I type the word MANGAzine instead. lol.
