My plan for today was to drive to Tamworth but I only got as far as Coonabarabran. That means, instead of sleeping in tomorrow morning and wandering around Tamworth at my leisure, I now have to drive 200kms (124miles) before I even get to Tamworth. Oops!
Oh, well. What's the benefit of not booking accommodation if you can't just stay where you want when you want. :D
Besides, if I had pre-booked in Tamworth for tonight, I would either have had a very long drive tonight or I would've missed out on travelling 'The Bogan Way'...
The Town of Bogan Gate! Yes, that's its name. 'The Bogan Way' is the road you travel on to get to Bogan Gate. Love this so much!
Bogan Gate War Memorial.
Like many country towns, Bogan Gate's memorial is prominently positioned in the middle of a the road. (That's my little car, Brett, in the background.)
Ben Hall's (Australian Bushranger) grave at Forbes Cemetery.
Although Mr. Hall was a Bushranger, which is no good, he was never responsible for killing anyone but was himself shot and killed by police in 1865.
A random angel.
Parkes Radio Telescope (aka. THE DISH)
The Dish was used to receive transmissions of the moon landing in 1969.
A rainbow. Awwww...
(It was a lot bigger and clearer but by the time I found somewhere to pull over it had almost gone.)
Tomorrow I will definitely make it to Tamworth. :)
