Last Thursday I went with Team!Short bus to see My Bloody Valentine 3D.
We were all asked for ID. Fair enough with some of the youngens but for me? Seriously? SERIOUSLY? I haven't been asked for ID in about 10 years. I should be flattered, right? *facepalm*
Cut for SPOILERS...
By some fortunate act of fate, I'd managed to stay spoiler free for the movie so I had no idea who the killer was. I'm very glad that was the case because a lot of the fun was trying to guess who it was.
Deep down, I think I knew all along but I was in denial who it was going to be but it didn't stop me trying to pin the murders on absolutely everyone from the Sheriff to Sarah's kid. (What? You gotta admit that kid looked a little scary peaking out from behind the sofa.)
The title sequence was quite snazzy and there may or may not have been a tiny bit of squealing from our row when Jensen's Tom's picture first appeared. (And that was just from the two guys sitting to the left of Robyn!) However, those squeals paled in comparison to the squeals and gasps heard when 'Tom' appeared on the screen for the first time. He's kinda pretty.
The movie itself was gripping enough and there were times when I even jumped. And FYI - slouching down in your seat doesn't make it any less gory or gruesome.
When it came time for the big reveal at the end I must admit at first I felt a little cheated finding out who the killer was. Since then I've thought about it and I'm pretty cool with it now although I'm going to have to see it again to make sure and perhaps also to see that smirk on Tom's face at the end just before the credits roll. :D
In conclusion:
Jensen Ackles: Damn, that boy oughta be in the movies.
I posted a little while ago about how Supernatural could end and I think I may have mentioned I didn't want them to leave the series hanging so we could revisit the boys on the 'big screen'. Well, screw that!!! I want a BIG DAMN SUPERNATURAL MOVIE!
Supermarkets: Thanks to this movie I may end up starving to death. The scene in the supermarket freaked me out and so far I've managed to avoid going to one. I know I'm going to have tobrave one at some stage but OMG!!! *hides*
Mines I realised early on in the movie I probably wouldn't want to visit a tourist mine for a very long time after having seen this movie.
Miners: However, I didn't realise I'd have flashbacks to the movie while babysitting on Saturday night. I was looking after little Campbell and he wanted to watch Winnie the Pooh and one of the characters who turned up on the DVD was this little guy:
Remind you of anyone? ;)
Despite giving me nightmares about Winnie the Pooh characters I really did enjoy the movie and I'll most definitely be seeing it again.
