(no subject)
today def turned out better than i originally thought it might. ended up accidentally hitting the off button on my alarm clock instead of my snooze button, so almost didn't get up for my 9 o'clock class this morning, and i had a test in it. thankfully, the high school yearbook called to schedule the swim team's picture, so they woke me up at 8:30 and i just did make class in time. had a great meeting with my international law presentation group - i think our presentation is going to rock, and i'm glad we have a couple of weeks to finalize it. went by and picket up tickets for the football game tomorrow so that jamie's parents can come see him for band parents weekend - though they'll have to hang in the student section.
swim practice rocked today. practice just started on monday and i wasn't sure at the end of the day monday how the season was going to go. after wednesday, i was beginning to get excited. but today, i can't wait for the rest of the season. i now know all of the swimmers by name (basically had it down by the end of practice wednesday) whether they're in the pool or not. they're also talking to me about what's going on at school and what's going on this weekend and such. we had a somewhat easy practice b/c it's friday - and i think they enjoyed being able to goof off some. i also joined them while they were doing dryland and stretching and actually did some of the stuff with them - i think they really liked that i was willing to do what they were.
then, got home and was still waiting to here back as to what was going on tonight. phone rings, and instead of it being elizabeth or someone else calling about tonight, it was dirk :-D i talked to him about two weeks ago, and we're trying to do better about keeping in touch and calling b/c we had gotten bad about it after i left atlanta and came up to JMU. but, it was great to hear from him and we talked for over half an hour. he's even trying to figure out how to transfer me some of his skymiles so that i can fly down to atlanta in february for free :-D i can't wait till christmas so i'll get to see him again. that was one of the hardest parts of my decisions to leave atlanta: not living down there with him anymore, and leaving my close group of girls. however, he's traveling a lot with his new job, so i prob wouldn't see him all that much even if i was living down there.
well, i'm about to head to bed. waiting for chris (lindsey's bf) to get here so i can let him in, then i'm crashing. talk to y'all later - and y'all hali people let me know what's going on over thanksgiving break. i'll be home tuesday.
