I came across this set of luggage tag stickers at Pulp on Capitol Hill back when I was living in d.c. and I've just been waiting for a project to use them on. I think they lend themselves well to this little postcard box. You know how you're always getting cards and postcards from friends and family and you don't really want to throw them out, but you have nowhere to keep them and they just clutter up your desk or filing cabinet... well now I can just slip em in my handy dandy lil postcard box here! Nifty eh? Yeah, I know... you're totally jeaous :D
I went with a beachy theme to match the theme of the luggage tags. The inside is decoupaged with underwater maps that give it a nice map chest quality. Painted sea green of course to match and with the outside I felt like choosing a bolder color than the expected brown. So I went with 'buttercup'. Now, it comes out looking a lot more orange than expected, but I was quite glad about that. I also decoupaged the front with a paper that, when I saw it, made me think about the Beach Boys and woodies... so now everytime I look at that paper thats the feeling I get and it always makes me smile and wish I were on a beach somewhere. So I'll admit that was my primary reasoning behind naming this project 'Just Beachy'.
