First of all, the next time I go to school for the first time, I would appreciate a warning that I should NEVER take a Communications class. So those of you who have a time machine please go back in time to when I signed up for COM130: Mass Media in a Changing World.
This class is easily the biggest waste of time I've ever indulged in. Every week we explore a type of media. So books, magazine, newspapers, etc. and maybe if the class wasn't developed for the developmentally disabled, it would be good. But it is not. Apparently a lot of young people sign up for this class. It's where I once heard someone say that F. Scott Fitzgerald is gay.
One of my biggest challenges in pursuing my Human Services degree and being the most awesome community organizer the world has ever seen is getting over my harsh brand of judgment. I don't judge based on race, religion, class, sexual orientation, or any of the run of the mill stuff. No, I judge based on intellectual capabilities and the hard to define category of "realness." I know that I'm going to have to get over that to be an effective helper.
HOWEVER...
In COM today we were supposed to bring in a version of our favorite songs. I picked Paper Planes by M.I.A. and we got to see her super sweet video.

Almost the entire class was like that's weird, why's that so weird, why are you so weird, katy? I don't mind people not liking my musical tastes but you do a disservice to yourself when you just dismiss something as "weird." I do think there is something wrong with you if you don't think that little flying dance M.I.A does is super fucking cute.
Also, Johnny Lang can suck my dick! That's especially for you baseball cap guy in the front row of my class. I hope you choke on that Blue's Hammer bullshit!
