Andromeda Black Tonks paced her kitchen, checking the stew for the fifth time in seven minutes. Ted Tonks folded The Quibbler and set it aside with a sigh. "You don't have to be so nervous, Andromeda. Everything will be fine."

"Fine? It won't be fine! He's a werewolf, Ted. A werewolf! What was Nymphadora thinking, getting involved with him!"

He stirred his tea as he watched her knead the dough for the pastry crust for the treacle tart. "Do you suppose that your parents thought the same thing?"

She jabbed her wand in the direction on the stew, causing the ladle in the pan to give a few stirs. "My parents? Why would they have thought about werewolves?"

"Not exactly. Your parents probably sat around and discussed what you were thinking, getting involved with a Muggle-born. But they probably used the term mudblood."

"It's not the same thing. Not at all."

"Explain the difference."

Instead of answering, Andromeda glared at her husband before rolling the dough into a circle.

"You need to be able to explain it. Dora will ask you and you don't want her to have to choose between him and us. You might loose."

Andromeda pulled out a chair across from Ted. "It isn't Remus. He was Sirius' friend. Dumbledore trusts - trusted - him, so I trust him. Mostly. But during the full moon, he can turn on anyone - even those he loves most while in his human form. That could be Dora. That could be their children. If they do have children, will they be werewolves, too? He can't hold a job, so all income will be Dora's responsibility." Andormeda shook her head. "It's not Remus; it's the stigma of the werewolf and the backlash it creates for their families."

Andromeda wiped tears from her eyes with the corner of her apron. "But she loves him. And you can't choose who you love."

Nymphadora and Remus Apparated onto the back porch of the Tonks' house. She squeezed his hand and told him not to worry. She raised her hand to knock but the door was opened before her hand made contact.

"Dora!" Ted grasped her in a hug and spun her around. "You've been away much too long." Ted set her back on her feet and held out his hand to Remus. "Welcome."

"Thank you, Mr.-"

"Ted."

"Ted." Remus smiled at his father-in-law as Dora grasped his hand and pulled him into the kitchen.

"Mum," Dora said, "I'd like you to meet Remus Lupin."

Andromeda greeted him with a smile that didn't quiet reach her eyes. "It nice to finally meet the man my daughter married." Dora rolled her eyes behind her mother's back. "Dinner isn't ready, yet. Perhaps you'd like tea?"

"Yes, thank you, Mrs. Tonks."

"You can call her Andromeda. Just don't call her Andi - she hates that."

Ted pulled out his chair and indicated the one across from him for Remus. Remus nodded to his father-in-law and sat.

Ted stirred sugar into his tea and asked Remus what he had been doing since he left his position at Hogwarts.

"Honestly, whatever I can, Ted. Right now I do some private tutoring. Dumbledore wanted me to try and recruit werewolves to his side, but since the Ministry regulates werewolves many of them believe they would be better off with Vold-" Remus heard Andromeda's intake of breath and changed his wording, "better off with he-who-must-not-be-named in charge.

"The Werewolf Code of Conduct has been around for years and the Ministry has run the Werewolf Registry and Werewolf Capture Unit, while at the same time had an office for Werewolf Support Services was in the Being Division."

Andromeda set the meal on the table and took her seat. "Do you think it will be better for you if the Oder of the Phoenix wins?"

"I think it will be better for everyone if the Order wins."

"Do you honestly believe our side is just a strong with Dumbledore gone and everyone relying on a sixteen year-old boy?"

"Mum, I don't think-" Dora began.

Remus put down his fork and met his mother-in-law's eye. "In general, no. But I think the boy in question has ability that he isn't aware of himself."

Dora nodded her head in agreement with her husband, and her hair changed briefly from her trademark pink to black to match Harry's colour.

Ted and Andromeda exchanged glances. "What you really came here to ask was that we help when you move Harry this month, wasn't it?"

"Yes."

Ted nodded, "What do you need us to do?"
