In July, my darling parents came up to Eugene for a visit. Having learned all my birdwatching habits from them, I knew they needed a trip to the
Cascades Raptor Center for close-up looks at owls, hawks, eagles, and vultures.
Meanwhile, I got busy with my long & skinny sketchbook and a good old-fashioned ballpoint pen.
I had forgotten how in love I was with the heart-shaped faces of barn owls until I sketched them this day. Such charming birds!
