I went to Laneway Festival with Tim (and saw Luke and Sophie) today. I saw Pivot, Faker, The Posies, Darren Hanlon and Jens Lekman (and was around but didn't really pay attention to Gersey). I took lots of photos, and a few turned out pretty well. Here are a few of my favourites, and please go here for the whole batch.

As always, great shots. Even though I was a big fan of the Posies back in the day, I've never managed to see them in concert. How did you like them?

They struggled with bad sound - the vocals were barely audible. Auer's stage moves seemed kind of half-hearted, even if he was throwing his guitar every 5 minutes or so, but in general they were fun! Stringfellow was always interesting to watch. They were more rock than I'd expected, and I was surprised that they reminded me of the Foo Fighters.

Yeah, I think I agree with what Tim said. It was hard to decipher the songs, having never heard them before, but that's down to the festival sound, I think. I'm very interested to hear them recorded, though. The Posies themselves were fun, though, making jokes the whole time and such, and Stringfellow pulled lots of nice rock moves.
