Feelings on recent media I've consumed

Let's start with Robert Zelazny's Amber Chronicles, since I've spent the longest on them recently.  Very good story, but very poorly executed.  That is to say, I really don't see how the man won Hugo awards and the like with a writing style like that.  Specifically, I found character introductions and developments to be distinctly lacking.  Random people would be introduced, you'd learn they were major because they were still around a few chapters later, and then...  they'd just up and change.  Usually to become more peaceful.  Now, I could handle one, maybe two, characters undergoing life-changing revelations and giving up their muderous ways.  But to have almost all the major villains just come in at some point and say "Heya, I'm done being evil, friends now?"  is kinda silly.  Finally, I'm glad I had the 10-pack omnibus edition, since most of the books (save 1) ended in the same way as any chapter, and the next book really did begin as just the next chapter.  I'd hate to have read them as individual books, waiting for the next to be released.  Simliarly, there was no startup review/briefing beginning most books.  Admittedly I hate when these are too long, but not having them at ALL usually seems equally bad.  This comes down to introducing characters again.  THAT being said, it WAS a really good story in general.  Just, as I say, badly executed.

Second: Slayers!  One comment only here.  It amuses me terribly, upon rewatching it again, to have noticed that, when Lina was nearly killed by the Rezo mark 2,  the animators could be bothered to illustrate the wrinkles in her shirt caused by her nipples, but couldn't be bothered to animate her chest rising while she received CPR.

Third: The Real Ghostbusters.  I've just watched an episode in which Peter falls through a hole, and not only does Winston pull a rope out of hammer space and drop it down the hole, he IMMEDIATELY starts climbing down, not anchoring it anywhere...  'nough said, there.

Hmm, I was going to complain about Metroid, too, but it occurs to me that them'd be lynchin' words...

Ok, that's all from me I think.  Behold my interesting life!
